The youngest driver in F1 history has joined the team at PartyPoker.

Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari will join fellow F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella in representing the online poker room as an ambassador.

Now 20, the Barcelona native became the youngest driver in F1 history when he took part in the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix at 19.

Alguersuari has always had a passion for poker and will be taking part in exclusive tournaments and promotions at PartyPoker.

"Some say that I am a novice in F1 and I would say the same about poker," he said. "I have loved the game from afar but with all my driving commitments, I have a lot to learn.

"The popularity of poker in Spain is on the rise and I cannot wait to be part of it and improve my skills at the table by playing online. Poker is so popular amongst the F1 drivers at the moment, by becoming an ambassador for I aim to be the best of them all."

PartyPoker will be offering its players the chance to meet Alguersuari at both F1 and poker events in the coming months, including WPT Barcelona, which runs May 17-23.

"If Jaime has a natural flair for poker like he does for driving, he can come and join the poker elite in F1," added Fisichella.

Alguersuari began his racing in 2005. He won the Italian Formula Renault Winter Series a year later. He moved up to the British Formula Three Championship in 2008 and won the final three races of the season there to clinch the championship, becoming the youngest title winner in series history at 18.

He moved to F1 in 2009 scoring his first points in Malaysia this year.

In his most recent race he finished 13th at the Grand Prix in China.
