World Cup Festival: The Biggest Tournament Schedule to Date

The World Cup Festival is BCPoker’s biggest venture to date. From June 11 to July 19, there will be $250,000 in play across everything from MTTs, freerolls, leaderboards, and goals for cash. Since this is a lot, let’s start with the obvious — the most important dates to circle on your calendar:

The festival culminates on July 19, when the WC Final Main is set to take place, along with its $30,000 guarantee. While you can always buy directly into the Main Event for $50, there’s also a way around it. Players can also qualify through a satellite ladder from just $1, as with daily hyper satellites and mega satellites run throughout the festival.

Hat Trick Knockouts and Daily Freerolls

As promised, the World Cup Festival isn’t just MTTs. Knockout fanatics will have their own designated game, the $1,000 Hat Trick PKO, which will run daily throughout the series. The idea is as straightforward as it gets in poker — knock out 3 players and win a $7 ticket.

On the other side of the daily schedule, there is the $30,000 World Cup Freeroll. This is a tiered affair, with the lowest freeroll levels, the Daily $500 WC Freerolls, running daily, followed by $1,000 WC Freerolls running over the weekend only to culminate in two events:

A World Cup Leaderboard to Follow in Tow

Parallel to the month long World Cup Festival, BCPoker will also be hosting a five-stage World Cup Leaderboard, with a $42,000 prize pool and final-stage jackpot bonus. There are five stages in total, with the prize pool increasing and the paid places decreasing as the month progresses. Here’s an overview of the leaderboard:

Players can collect points through cash games, MTT buy-ins, casino games, and live casino titles, although the exact scoring depends on the activity type. Each stage comes with its own leaderboard, just like the actual World Cup, so the race resets in smaller weekly chunks rather than turning into one long grind from start to finish.

One More World Cup Goal Bonus

Apart from the World Cup Festival and the Leaderboard, there’s also a World Cup mechanic for cash game players during the promotional period.

Whenever a goal is scored during eligible World Cup matches, players currently at cash games on BCPoker can receive an instant cash bonus between $0.20 and $20 per goal, depending on the stake level.
