PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario Launch Back on Track for June 3

PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario Launch Back on Track for June 3

Almost a month ago, PokerStars halted all poker operation in Ontario— one of the most pivotal steps in its preparation to launch PokerStars on FanDuel in the Canadian province. While the transition period to the new FanDuel Poker platform was initially supposed to take up to a week and launch in early May, the migration hit a halt, forcing the brand to backtrack their initial timeline and move the launch date further down the road. Fortunately for Ontario players, that date is tomorrow, June 3.

PokerStars Ontario on FanDuel took to X (formerly Twitter) to make the announcement late last week:

With the launch less than 24 hours away, it only seems fair to break down everything the new platform has in store for Ontario.

What PokerStars on FanDuel Is Bringing to Ontario

For its Ontario launch, FanDuel seems to be following its US blueprint to a tee. The transition across Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey on April 1 was closely followed by custom tournaments, like the Ignite Series, premiering on the new platform. The Ontario chapter appears to have something similar in mind with the No Sweat Series:

During the whole of next week, from June 8 to June 14, PokerStars on FanDuel will be giving away C$100,000 in prizes across free tournaments on the Playtech-run platform.

Apart from the series, FanDuel has also announced two marquee events, the Sunday Dynasty and Sunday Shield, coming to the Ontario client on June 7. The $100 Sunday Dynasty will boast C$100,000 in guaranteed prizes during the premier weekend.

While the month-long hiatus had to feel long for the Ontario poker base, tomorrow’s launch is promising big things, meaning all we have to do right now is set our timers and be ready to explore PokerStars on FanDuel.
