After a week of action and great experiences, the SiGMA Poker Tour Malta concluded with the final table of the Main Event — €200 SiGMA Special Edition €150,000 GTD.
Brief Overview of the SiGMA Special Edition Event
The SiGMA Special Edition had seven entry days between May 28th and 31st, 2026. Together, they collected 673 entries, making this tournament the biggest SPT Main Event yet.
The diversity of nationalities in the tournament was also striking.

Firstly, not only in the Main Event, but also throughout the series, there was a real invasion of Italians — two of them even won the SPT Malta side events.
Secondly, players came to SPT not only from a dozen European countries but also from overseas. The list of countries included but wasn’t limited to Poland, Greece, Denmark, France, Bulgaria, Serbia, Spain, Estonia, Germany, England, Cyprus, Turkey, Lithuanian, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Australia, Colombia and even Japan.
The players’ ages also varied greatly, from young men and women just entering adulthood to poker enthusiasts with many years of experience.

However, despite the diversity, the final table of the Main Event turned out to be extremely male and European — and the future champion Erik Põlluveer entered it as the chip leader.
How Erik Põlluveer Won SiGMA Special Edition
The game was streamed with open cards on Twitch with commentary from the incomparable David Lappin — you can watch the recording on the RobinPoker channel.
The final table lasted just under 3 hours, with half of the players eliminated within the first hour.
Among the players remaining with Erik in the 4-max was SiGMA Poker Tour ambassador Lukas Robinson, with whom the future champion had several unpleasant hands.
For example, Erik tried to bluff Lukas with A8o on a rainbow board of JK9J7 when his opponent had a pocket pair of AA — but he gave up in time, losing only a third of his chips.

He also lost a significant pot by correctly letting go of 54o on 48Q3 board with three spades, when Lukas held A7o with a spade.

Erik played even more cautiously with the other players, trying not to risk his stack unnecessarily — and in the end, this tactic paid off.
Lukas, by the way, was busted out in fourth place after losing several hands, leaving Erik to deal with the remaining opponents on his own.
It took him half an hour to bust them out, at the end of which he joyfully took the trophy and €32,000 in prize money.

In the afterwards interview, Erik was obviously overwhelmed with emotions, stating:
I’m feeling extremely good. This is the biggest win of my life. In this structure you need a lot of luck and luckily today was my day. Maybe tomorrow I will fully realize what happened.
