EPT Snowfest, some serious action online and in poker boardrooms all over the world helped keep the PokerListings news team relatively busy this week

As a result, a few stories seemed to slip through the cracks. But as usual, we caught them all and fit them in our weekly Poker News in Brief feature below.

This week, stars align for the Irish Open, the NAPT is back on ESPN2, PKR goes live again and more.

Stars Align For Irish Open

Paddypowerpoker confirmed a number of big name pros will take part in the Irish Open 2011 this week.

WSOP bracelet holders Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott, Alan Smurfit and Dan Harrington have joined EPT winners Julian Thew and Roberto Romanello in confirming their attendance.

Football legend Tony Cascarino and Snooker World Champion Ken Doherty are also planning to play, alongside previous Irish Open winners Marty Smyth and Neil Channing.

The €3200+€300 Irish Open will take place April 22-25 in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.


PKR is offering its players two separate ways to qualify for their flagship PKR Live VI event at the Fox Poker Club in London May 19-22.

Players can qualify for a seat-only package worth $1,220 or one of PKR's newly launched packages worth $1,660 including buy-in and $610 towards expenses.

Satellites for both are rolling around the clock starting at just $2.10.

Organizers say PKR Live VI will feature a prizepool of over $300,000.

Titan Poker Offers Irish Open Seats

Titan Poker will stage an Irish Open 2011 Mega Super Satellite April 3 offering 30 guaranteed packages to the Irish Open 2011 main event.

Plus, the site's Go Live poker promotion will allow players to qualify for a special Titan Go Live Final on April 4 that will award a €4,600 Irish Open 2011 Prize Package.

The event itself is set to take place in Dublin, Ireland, April 22.

PokerStars Announces Executive Appointments

PokerStars announced two new executive appointments this week.

Guy Templer, the former Chief Operating Officer of Netplay TV, joins PokerStars as the new Corporate Business Development Director.

In the meantime, Lee Jones, the Poker Room Manager at PokerStars from 2003-07, is re-joining the company as the new Head of Home Games.

NAPT Returns to ESPN2

The North American Poker Tour (NAPT) will return to ESPN2 and Monday, April 18 at 10 p.m. ET.

Featuring top poker pros Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moneymaker, Eric Baldwin, Michael Mizrachi and Jason Mercier among others, more than $5,000,000 in prize money is up for grabs in the televised events.

James Hartigan will be calling the play-by-play and Joe Stapleton provides analysis.
