Pilgrim Wins Third WSOPC Ring

Dwyte Pilgrim

Dwyte Pilgrim cemented his status as one of the most dominant players on the WSOP Circuit by winning his third ring this weekend.

Pilgrim outlasted 168 players in a $340 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em event at Harrah's Rincon in San Diego to win a third WSOPC title for $13,392.

The ring ties him for second place all-time with Chris Ferguson, one behind Men "The Master" Nguyen, who has four.

"I feel great," said Pilgrim after winning. "Today's a big day in my life. I'm just going to keep playing consistent until someone recognizes me."

The Brooklyn-born poker pro has been on a tear in WSOPC events over the last 15 months with three victories, 10 final table appearances and 18 cashes.

With the recent win Pilgrim now has over $640,000 in tournament winnings since bursting onto the scene in 2008. His success at the WSOPC led organizers to call him the circuit's unofficial Player of the Year in 2009.

Thus far Pilgrim has been unable to replicate his success in WSOPC events on the biggest poker stage of all - the World Series of Poker. It's something he plans to rectify this summer.

"I think I should be one of the players to watch at the World Series of Poker," said Pilgrim.

Pilgrim will have another crack at a WSOPC main event as the Rincon series is scheduled to culminate with a final table this Wednesday. He won the event last year for $125,775.
