Filming of the next season of PartyPoker's Late Night Poker will begin Oct. 23 in Cardiff, and the lineup has been confirmed by the poker site.

Some of the familiar faces returning to Late Night Poker will be Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott, the Hendon Mob, Padraig Parkinson, Donnacha O'Dea, Marcel Luske and Simon Trumper.

One renowned pro joining in the game for this season is 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Jamie Gold. He's taken down the biggest prize so far in a tournament with the $12 million he pulled down for the Main Event win.

Annette Obrestad, the 19-year-old Norwegian phenom who recently won the Main Event of the WSOP Europe, also recently joined the lineup for the show. Taking to the felt alongside her in Late Night Poker will be Rene Mouritsen, Roland de Wolfe and Robert Williamson III.

Adding some star power and more international flavor to the mix will be Maud Mulder who is famous in Holland for finishing second in the original Pop Idol series. Not only did she hit chart records, she won the very first major poker tournament she played in.

Agnieszka Rylik, a Polish journalist, will also join the show after preparing for the poker battle in Las Vegas with coaching session with Mike Sexton.

"We're happy so many of the old faces are back and are pleased with the new lineup," said a PartyPoker spokesman. "There is also going to be a celebrity special table filmed the same day as the final - details of which will be released in the near future."

The show is also returning to its original format this season, changing how the action will be filmed for television.

"The convention for every poker show these days is to show all the player's cards as soon as they enter a pot," said Rob Thomas, Late Night Poker producer. "When Late Night Poker started, the style was very different."

Player's cards were revealed at appropriate moments during the hand to create more drama as the hand progressed. Now, twice in each show, the viewers will see the hand from one player's perspective.

"We'll only see their particular hole cards which gives the viewer a different perspective as the hand develops," Thomas said.

"TV poker is about creating drama and tension, and in these instances, the commentators will have great fun guessing what the opponent might be holding, and then there's the excitement of the 'reveal' moment at the end of the hand. We believe this will enhance the viewers' enjoyment."

The tournament will be played in seven heats with seven players each, followed by a semi-final and a final. The players will pay a $5,000, and with PartyPoker chipping in $90,000, they'll be vying for a $335,000 prize pool with a $125,000 top prize.

The field will also feature 10 players who qualified online at PartyPoker.
