Hansen Returns to Winning Ways

Reports of Gus Hansen’s online demise this year were greatly exaggerated as the Full Tilt Pro won over $500k this week.

Hansen was absolutely relentless recording a staggering 15,058 hands in seven days, mostly of $200/$400 and $300/$600 Pot-Limit Omaha.

For a change the 6-Max games were running on a regular basis on Full Tilt this week and players like FinnishNightmre, harrington25, UarePileous, Tom Dwan, David Oppenheim, POKERBLUFFS and trex313 were out in full force.

In total Hansen played 131 sessions this week and added $565k to his bankroll.

It was a striking contrast to the first week of April where Hansen lost $1 million in seven days.

Hansen is now up $3.6 million playing online poker in 2011 and easily the biggest winner of the year.

The last week also saw two slightly lesser known players grab the spotlight with huge scores. The recently dominant FakeSky took down $499k while Seb86 earned $412k.

Scott “URnotINdanger2” Palmer was also one of the top winners with $344k in profit. After a few rough weeks, Palmer is back on track with $472k in overall earnings.

Close behind Palmer was Durham-native Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky. Sulsky picked up $314k in 1,809 hands over the last week.

Meanwhile POKERBLUFFS had a catastrophic week losing some huge sessions against Gus Hansen and dropping a total of $463k.

The enigmatic Lance84 was the second biggest loser going $332k into the red.

Behind Lance84 was a familiar face in kagome kagome (formerly IHateJuice) who lost $321k. It’s been a miserable year for kagome kagome, down close to $2 million.

The woes of 2011 also continued for Tom “durrrr” Dwan. The poker prodigy originally from New Jersey lost $288k. It’s been a surprising year for durrrr fans as the High Stakes Poker star is down by $2.4 million, more than anyone else.
