Saage kicked off his winning weekend with the Euro Grand Prix $70,000 Guaranteed tournament on Dec. 29. After toppling that field, he earned $22,875 in prize money.

With a boosted bankroll and extra confidence from the win, Saage headed into the Dec. 30 Grand Tournament, which boasts a $500,000 prize pool.

Plenty of other online players at Mansion Poker were interested in taking a piece of the $500k guarantee as well. When Saage took his seat at the table, he was among 847 players who signed up to play.

According to Mansion Poker, the Finn gave a stellar performance in what was his first major tournament.

On the final hand, Saage was dealt pocket rockets on the big blind against his opponent's A-3 off-suit. They were all-in pre-flop and the board came 7h-2s-Qd-Tc-6h.

Saage's pair of aces held up to take the pot and the first prize.

Other players at Mansion Poker can take a shot at the $500,000 guaranteed Grand Tournament this month, with the two flights of the tournament taking place Jan. 15 and 26 at 7 p.m. (GMT).

The Grand tournament has a direct buy-in of $1,000+$40, which gets players a $10,000 starting chip stack. The tournament is played with a 30-minute blind structure and an option of two starting days. Surviving players from both heats automatically earn a ticket to the final with their chip stacks carried over.

Registration is currently open for the Jan. 25 flight for this month's tournament.

Players can also win their way into the Grand Tournament through qualifiers for as little as $1.
