Bodog to launch Bodog Poker Open

With online poker series all the rage these days Bodog Poker is presenting their own unique version with the Bodog Poker Open.

The inaugural season will kickoff on March 3 with events in No-Limit, Pot-Limit, Six-handed and Rebuy variants on the agenda. There will be five preliminary events all leading to the series' championship - the $500 buy-in Bodog Poker Open main event on March 9.

The first Bodog Poker champion will win the title and walk away with an engraved Omega Speedmaster watch, valued at $4,400.

To make the prize pool even juicier Bodog will be adding a total of $75,000 in additional money to the BPO's prize pools which will create a larger payouts for each event and give the players great bang for their buck.

Bodog North American CEO Alwayn Morris talked about what it meant for the company to be hosting its first online series.

"We're excited to finally give our online poker players a tournament series where they can battle it out for some major bragging rights and serious money," said Morris. "While there will be more Bodog Poker Opens, there will only be one "first" Bodog Poker Champion and he or she will have the cash and the champion's Omega Speedmaster watch to show for it."

Players can buy in directly to any of the events with cash or Bodog Tournament Credits or win their way in through any number of low-cost satellites starting on Monday Feb. 11. With buy-ins ranging from as low as $100 the Bodog Poker Open is truly a tournament for players of any size bankroll.

Winners of the preliminary events will win entry into the main event in addition to their tournament winnings.
