Conquering Online Poker, one of the many wonderful instructional DVD's from poker star Annie Duke, is a nice and classy production that lives up to our high expectations of the poker great. For people that have seen Annie on TV or in real life, it is obvious that she is a natural poker player and instructor. Her personality and soft voice make for easy viewing.

Throughout Conquering Online Poker, Annie gives the viewer the basics on every subject as well as her own personal comments and thoughts. The DVD has a pleasant and straightforward approach, starting out with an introduction to online poker and continuing through the start-up phases of the online game.

The only real mistake the producers of the DVD have made is the annoyingly static camera. Viewers will get sick of watching Ms. Duke sitting at the same green felt table throughout the entire production. Even though most instructional DVDs aren't exiting or thrilling, the unchanging camera angle and scenery sometimes make the viewer want to shut the video off and take a break.

Conquering Online Poker is definitely aimed at novice online players and has a lot to teach a player new to the world of online poker. For the more experienced player looking for expert advice, there are definitely better productions available although you may learn something if you pick up this DVD.

It consists of three chapters and is best viewed from start to finish. Each chapter is divided into three parts. Chapter one introduces the viewer to online poker, explains how to get started, and how online poker can be used as a tool. The second chapter discusses online tells, online vs. casino play, and playing multiple tables, and the third chapter deals with online tournaments and satellites, and offers a conclusion.

The total playing time of Conquering Online Poker is just under 60 minutes. It includes a poker dictionary and previews of other Masters of Poker productions.
