Trump Plaza runs first PokerPro tournaments
By Sarah Polson
PokerTek announced last week that Trump Plaza in Atlantic City would be hosting tournaments on its newly installed PokerPro tables from Aug. 28 to Sept. 5.
Trump Plaza installed 12 fully automated PokerPro poker tables on June 13. Jim Rigot, Trump Plaza general manager, said the casino has built a strong base of PokerPro players since their installation.
"We've had a lot of requests for tournaments and are pleased to offer them to our players," Rigot said. "We have a tournament offering that will rival the best schedules in Atlantic City."
The casino will be offering $1,000 freerolls twice a day at noon and 8 p.m. ET until Sept. 5. Then on Sept. 6, a full tournament schedule using the PokerPro tables will be put into effect.
There will be daily Hold'em tournaments at 11:30 a.m. with a $55 buy-in. On Friday and Saturday the automated poker tables will play host to a $77 tournament at 7:30 p.m. and at that same time on Sunday through Wednesday there will be $55 tournaments.
Omaha players will get their chance for tournaments every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with a $55 buy-in.
"Our players get to name the games they want to play," said Anthony Spagno, Trump Plaza casino manager. "If you want to have a Pot-Limit Omaha game, short-handed games or tournaments for you and your friends, Trump Plaza is the place to be. We can deal what you want, when you want it, fast and error free."
