Gala Casinos and ITV4 have struck a deal to televise all six Great British Poker Tour (GBPT) festivals this fall.
The five-day festivals are being filmed by Presentable to form a series of 12, one-hour shows. Presentable is a production company that helped create Late Night Poker in 1999.
"It's thrilling to be working with Gala Casinos on this exciting new tour that takes television poker out of the studio and around the U.K.," said Megan Stuart of Presentable.
"We're anticipating some terrific contests and hope to discover some new poker stars in the process."
The shows will be hosted by presenter Alex Jones, and will showcase poker players from all across Britain.
In-depth coverage of each final table on the tour will also help reveal how each regional winner achieved their victories.
Two events of the tour have already played out: one in Edinburgh in February, and one in Teesside in April. Coming up are the Nottingham festival May 9-13, the Bournemouth festival June 13-17 and the Leeds festival Aug. 15-19.
"This is a long term, prestigious partnership with ITV and Presentable which adds another dimension to the play at the GBPT," said Nick Potter of Gala Casinos.
"So far the tour has been a massive success, and we plan to work with Presentable and the poker community to get some great program content that all fans of the game will love."
