Ziigmund Annihilates Gus Hansen

The Gus Hansen party came to an abrupt end last night thanks to Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies.

Within one week of winning his first WSOP bracelet and doing reasonably well on the high stakes online tables, Gus Hansen was mercilessly beat for nearly $900k in 1,187 hands.

Hansen played heads-up $500/$1,000 Cap PLO exclusively last night and took on Sahamies, Cole South and Skjervoy at various times throughout the night.

It was not a great night for the Great Dane who lost on every table. The session against Ziigmund was by far the worst as the Finn raked over $600k from Hansen.

South added to his misery by winning $100k and Skjervoy, who seems to be on a heater as of late, also won $97k.

Hansen is now down $2.5 million in 2010 and a very long shot to get back to even before the year concludes.

In other high stakes online news, Andrew “good2cu” Robl had a particularly strong night winning $340,554 in 749 hands of $100/$200 Six-Max PLO. Robl’s main victim was Esvedra who lost $157k in those games.

Hansen was joined in the losing column by harrington25 who dropped $151k and Cole South who, despite his win versus Hansen, still finished down $55k.
