Poker documentary earns Aussie film festival award

By Erin Warner

A recent documentary following two single parents in search of big cash on the professional poker circuit is garnering critical acclaim and awards at the Australian International Film Festival. The feature-length documentary "No Limit" received best director for an ensemble honors at the event.

"No Limit," which premiered at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas in July, has also been generating buzz in the media. The Las Vegas Sun wrote, "'No Limit' is the mother of poker docs," while the Toronto Star described the film as "a roller-coaster ride with an adrenaline high."

The film spends eight months with divorced couple Susan Genard and Tim Rhys as they head down a poker tournament trail that culminates with the World Series of Poker. "No Limit" is produced by Genard and directed by Rhys and Brian O'Hare.

Many of the world's most recognizable faces in poker make appearances in the film, offering the couple - out to win one high stakes tournament - words of wisdom.

"No Limit" is now available on DVD.
