Great Weekend for Gus Hansen
Don’t look now but Gus Hansen is making a serious run at getting even for the year.
Hansen was once again one of the busiest players in the high stakes games on Full Tilt Poker over the weekend.
He played a total of 3,301 hands and absolutely crushed his competition, winning a total of $279,531.
His key opponents included Ziigmund at $500/$1,000 Heads-Up Pot-Limit Omaha and David Benefield in the same game. Hansen also recorded some hands of $200/$400 PLO against DIN_FRU, Arbianight and Sauce1234.
Thanks to his haul over the weekend, Hansen is now down only $1.9 million this year. It’s the first time he’s been under the $2 million mark in several months.
Since hitting rock bottom at -$3.6 million in mid-October, Hansen has been steadily climbing and has won over $600k in the last three weeks.
It’s been the complete opposite for Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies who has essentially been in freefall for the last month.
Sahamies was the biggest loser this weekend, dumping a total of $243,365 at the online tables.
The Finn lost a total of $1.7 million in October and is no doubt hoping that November will be far kinder.
Some of the other big winners of the weekend included David Benefield (+$161k), Erik “DIN_FRU” Sagstrom (+$155k), Dan “jungleman12” Cates (+$151k) and DrugsOrMe (+$131k).
On the losing end were Van Marcus (-$185k), URnotINdanger2 (-$133k) and Jani Vilmunen (-$112k).
Finally it’s worth noting that Tom “durrrr” Dwan was the biggest winner in October with $991k earned, despite the fact he played a relatively small (8,825) amount of hands in the month.
