WSOP Tweet Relief: There's Something About Ivey
There's just something about Phil Ivey that brings out the raving poker fanboy in people.
Not just in "regular" people either. World-class poker players get a little giddy when Ivey runs deep in a tournament.
The poker world was buzzing again last night as Ivey had the chip lead deep in the $5k Omaha 8 event before eventually dropping out in third - again just short of his ninth career WSOP bracelet.
It made for an entertaining and superlative-heavy Twitter stream to say the least - especially after the gregarious Jean-Robert Bellande and Mike "The Mouth" Matusow jumped on the live stream to commentate.
Another disappointing finish for Ivey fans, but no shortage of professed Tweet love. And the occasional dream sequence:
My fiancé told me she had a dream last night that her n Phil Ivey were chasing @Phil_Hellmuth around the rio bc he stole a bag of gold coins— Jason Mercier (@JasonMercier) June 14, 2012
