WPT bumps up Spanish Championship
By Erin Warner
The World Poker Tour has altered the dates of one of its newest tournaments on the circuit, the Spanish Championship at Casino Barcelona.
Day 1 of the event will start 24 hours earlier, bumped up to Oct. 11 from Oct. 12. The tournament - the first time the WPT has televised an event in Spain - will run from Oct. 11 until the final taping on Oct. 16.
The Spanish Championship was added to the WPT Season 6 schedule released earlier this month.
Along with old standbys such as Foxwoods, Commerce Casino and the Borgata, the Barcelona event joins other newcomers Turks & Caicos Islands and Beau Rivage, Miss., on the tour.
The season, currently underway at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, as includes special events, such as the Ladies Night 5 and yet-to-be-determined themed invitation-only tournaments.
