r/poker Goes to WSOP Gives One Player a Shot at the 2026 Main Event

The first cards for the 2026 World Series of Poker are being dealt in just over two weeks, meaning the opportunities to secure your seat at the biggest poker stage are becoming slimmer. Just like with the 2025 edition, Reddit and GGPoker decided to help out a bit and take one player directly to the 2026 Main Event in Las Vegas through r/poker Goes to WSOP.

While the promotion hasn’t changed that much since last year, we’ll still cover all the details to give you the best possible shot at the 2026 Main Event.

How r/poker Goes to WSOP

For its 2026 edition, GGPoker stripped the tournament down to the most basic components — three freebuy tournament heats and one Grand Finale.

Each of these freebuy heats is open to all r/poker members playing on GGPoker. All you need to enter is a password, which will released 90 minutes before each heat begins on either :

  • r/GGPoker (the latest posts and community updates)
  • r/poker (pinned posts and announcements)

Here is a step-by-step guide of what to do once you’ve secured the password:

  1. Open the GGPoker client
  2. Navigate to the tournament lobby
  3. Type r/poker or r/poker Goes to WSOP in the tournament search bar
  4. Look for “r/poker Goes To WSOP [Heat 1]”, “[Heat 2]”, or “[Heat 3]”

The first 75 players from any and each heat will receive a card for the Grand Final, scheduled Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 21:00 (UTC). There, 225 players will battle it out for one single $10,000 WSOP Bracelet Pass for the 2026 WSOP Main Event at the 2026 WSOP Main Event.

A Few Important Notes

While GGPoker is keeping this tournament series as simple as possible, there are still a few requirements players have to meet, which aren’t up for debate:

  • Players must have active GGPoker account
  • The GGPoker account must be fully verified
  • Players must be members in good standing at r/poker
  • Players must be 21+ to play poker in the United States

There is one more requirement but only for the winner — if you win the $10,000 WSOP Bracelet Pass, you have to go and play the 2026 WSOP Main Event.

Just like Remi Alamian and Aleksandar Kozomara who won their passes for WSOP Vegas and WSOP Prague in 2025, the World Series wants to give the 2026 pass to someone passionate enough to give it all they’ve got.

A Few More r/poker Chances

While there is only one $10,000 WSOP Bracelet Pass, there are a couple more prizes that r/poker Goes to WSOP planned out. Players who don’t win the Grand Final, but finish between second and fifth place will receive a $150 WSOP Express Step 4 ticket — a gateway into future WSOP events through the WSOP Express.
