WPTE announces PPT line up

World Poker Tour Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE), owner of the World Poker Tour (WPT) and the Professional Poker Tour (PPT), announced yesterday the field and schedule for the PPT's second tournament season to begin in September 2006. The first season of the PPT is scheduled for television broadcast on July 5, 2006.

The PPT pits a select group of pro poker players against one another in invitational freeroll tournaments with $500,000 pots and big action. Extensive qualification guidelines are in place to ensure that players invited to compete are strictly la crème de la crème of the professional poker playing world. Players can gain entrance to the league through the WPT, the World Series of Poker, or other distinctions including the Poker Hall of Fame.

PPT's Season 2 will feature a field of 265 players and one new site - Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ. In addition to Borgata, the four PPT tournaments will be filmed at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Ct., Commerce Casino in Commerce, Calif., and the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

A new group of poker players are scheduled to compete for the $2 million total PPT prize pool, including Patrik Antonius, Joe Bartholdi, Andrew Black, Alex Brenes, John D'Agostino, Steve Dannenmann, Michael Gracz, Joseph Hachem, Rob Hollink, Aaron Kanter, Scott Lazar, Nam Le, Tuan Le, Paul Maxfield, Michael Mizrachi, Danny Nguyen, Rehne Pedersen, Max Pescatori, John Phan, Nick Schulman, David Singer, Gavin Smith, Arnold Spee, John Stolzmann, and Johan Storakers, among others.

Returnees include Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Ted Forrest, Carlos Mortensen, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Scotty Nguyen, Erick Lindgren, Daniel Negreanu, Jennifer Harman, T.J. Cloutier, Dan Harrington, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Mel Judah, Kathy Liebert, Erik Seidel, David Williams, Hasan Habib, and more.
