Spring hasn't quite sprung yet, but at PartyPoker players can try to win a trip to the Spring Poker Festival in Vienna. The poker site has opened up qualifiers for the European Challenge II taking place March 11-14.

The European Challenge II is taking place at the Concord Card Casino during the heart of the Spring Poker Festival in Vienna.

The prize packages to the event are valued at $7,500, which includes the $4,700 buy-in to the main event, six nights' accommodation, transfers to the casino, a special welcome event and $1,100 spending money.

As an added bonus, the European-based qualifiers will also be entered into a €1,000 freeroll and take part in the special 60-player East versus West Team Cup on March 10.

Players can qualify for the tournament prize package for as little as $1, and there are two main $300+$20 online satellites each week.

The players who win their way to Vienna will join some of the tournaments regulars such as Sigi Stockinger, Andreas Krause, Erich Kollmann, Michael Keiner, Nik Jedlicka, Harry Casagrande, Markus Golser, Katharine Hartree and more.

In 2007, Bruno Brunovic, a trainee lawyer, turned his online qualification for the European Challenge into a win that earned him €190,160. He battled heads-up against Andreas Krause to claim the title.

The year before, it was local favorite Sigi Stockinger who took home the first prize.

While PartyPoker has yet to finalize details of the East versus West Team Cup II freeroll, a press release did say it will see 30 representatives of Eastern Europe go up against 30 from Western Europe. Along with some of the prize package winners, pros such as Tony G, David "Devilfish" Ulliott, Ciaran O'Leary, Roland de Wolfe, Kirill Gerasimov and Alexander Kravchenko will face off as well.

Last year saw Thomas Jensen, a 31-year-old online qualifier from Denmark, take the win and lead Team West to glory.

"The €60,000 prize pool for the East versus West Team Cup is a great bonus for qualifiers for the European Challenge," said a PartyPoker spokesman.

"The final table of 10 will share €37,500, while the winning team will get €22,500 split between them, so even if you go out in the first hand in the freeroll, you stand to profit from successful team mates."
