The World Series of Poker Global Casino Championship, which replaces the WSOP National Championship, is set to run for the first-time ever this August at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina.

Once again there will be a gold bracelet up for grabs and a prize pool in the $1-$2 million range.

For the first time ever, however, players from Italy, Czech Republic, Morocco and Canada will all be invited.

100 Players Coming from WSOPC

As usual every WSOPC Main Event winner in the current season will get free entry into the WSOP Global Championship as well as the Casino Champion at each stop.

If players fail to win a main event title or become a Casino Champion they can still backdoor their way into the contest by finishing high enough on the WSOPC points leaderboard for this season.

This year those WSOPC entries can also come from international stops such as Rozvadov, Montreal and Tbilisi.

In addition to all those free entries the top 100 players in the WSOP World Rankings will all be allowed to buy in directly for $10,000.

The WSOP World Rankings include big-name stars such as Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Jonathan Duhamel and George Danzer, who are all in the current top 10.

The entire tournament is rake free so there’s a little bit of extra value for all the pros that wish to attend.

Last year Loni Harwood beat a star-studded final table that included Daniel Negreanu and Darryll Fish to win her second WSOP gold bracelet in the National Championship.

The 2016 WSOP Global Casino Championship will take place Aug. 9-11 at Harrah's Cherokee.
