The 2017 World Series of Sick Rides

The World Series of Poker parking lot is a gargantuan expanse that’s littered with some of the most expensive (and cheapest) cars that you can purchase.

It makes sense considering winning a large tournament at the WSOP should be able to get you a decently equipped BMW or Mercedes at the very least.

You’ll need something to haul all that cash around, right?

We’re going to give you a peek at some of the cars that routinely make appearances in the VIP lot at the World Series of Poker.

Win a Tournament, Get a Car?

Cars and poker have always shared a special relationship with luxury vehicles often being offered as a prize in various tournaments.

Porsches for everyone!

Both the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour have both given away cars for winning their Player of the Year races in previous years.

Most recently the World Poker Tour threw in a 2018 Audi S5 to the winner of its season-ending Tournament of Champions.

In 2009 the WSOP held a special 40th anniversary event for all its past Main Event champions and eventual winner Tom McEvoy walked away with a special vintage 1971 cherry-red Chevy Corvette that was fully restored.

One of the most famous promotions in online poker saw PokerStars put up a Porsche Cayman S in its online store for an absurd amount of frequent player points.

Italian pro Dario Miniari must have really needed some wheels because he was somehow able to grind up the three million points to get the car.

Online player joedi20 also won an Aston Martin DBS on the site. The DBS cost a staggering 5,000,000 frequent player points.

What Are the Best Cars for Poker?

There are no cars up for grabs in the 2017 WSOP but that hasn’t stopped players from parking some pretty impressive vehicles here.

Take a quick lot through the VIP lot and you'll notice a large number of SUVs and a certain electric car brand. Apparently you've got to balance your range even off the tables.

Here’s a look at some of the more interesting cars in the VIP lot at the WSOP:

We'll start things off with Audi R8. Nothing like a 10-second car to make sure you make it to the 2017 WSOP without missing a single blind. MSRP: At least $162,000.

The only problem with an Audi R8? No room for all your buds. That's when you need a brand-new Cadillac Escalade. You can't go wrong with the vehicles of choice for numerous athletes and rappers around the world. MSRP: Starts at $73k.

Is an Escalade slightly too big for you? You might want to check out the Mercedes GLS-Class. Fits seven and includes Mercedes 4MATIC all-wheel drive. MSRP: $67,050.

Like the Mercedes but not into SUVs? Go ahead and grab an S-Class in what looks to be Lunar Blue. MSRP: Starts at $93,000.

Back to SUVs. If you're going to grab a luxury SUV you might as well go with the legendary Range Rover. Another favorite of celebs and athletes. Capable of fording a river or getting Chipotle on dinner break of the Millionaire Maker. MSRP: $85,000.

Here's another good SUV option. The Lexus GX is heavily based on the Toyota Landcruiser, which has some amazing off-road capabilities. It's also a bit cheaper than the Mercedes and Land Rover equivalents. MSRP: Starts at $51,680.

How about some American muscle? This Dodge Challenger with low-pro tires definitely stood out in the parking lot. MSRP: Starts at $26k but rockets all the way up to $70k for the Hellcat model.

Now we're talking. This is a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Probably the most expensive car we've seen in the VIP lot. This one officially gives you "baller" status. MSRP: $417,825.

Did you know there's a high-stakes vehicle of choice amongst poker pros? That would be the all-electric Tesla Model S. MSRP: Starts at $68k but that doesn't include environmental rebates.

Another Tesla Model S. This one belongs to a particularly well known poker pro.

Yet another Tesla Model S. They should offer a poker pro discount at this point. Electric cars are basically like getting rakeback on gas money. Kinda.

Can't do a piece about vehicles at the World Series of Poker without mentioning these beasts. Several high-stakes poker pros have rented RVs for the summer so that they can come back and chill on breaks. Poker pros rent these but luxury RVs can get extremely expensive ranging from a few hundred thousand to several million.
