Søren Kongsgaard Danish poker champion

Søren Kongsgaard is the new Danish poker champion.
By Erik Sylven
There's more to Danish poker than Gus Hansen and recent EPT Barcelona winner Sander Lylloff. Over the weekend, 19-year-old Søren Kongsgaard took home the Danish No-Limit Hold'em championship.
Søren Kongsgaard made a name for himself when he finished third in the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo in April. He followed that up by winning a side event when the new EPT season kicked off in Barcelona two weeks ago.
Now, he is the new Danish poker champion. Kongsgaard defeated Jesper Bulow Christensen heads-up to win the No-Limit Hold'em main event.
The victory gave Kongsgaard approximately $200,000 in prize money. Not much compared to the $814,000 he won in Monte Carlo, but still a prestigious win for the young man who has earned the right to call himself the best poker player in Denmark.
