Chris Moorman Has the Dad’s Hot Run on ACR Poker

Chris Moorman Has the Dad’s Hot Run on ACR Poker

On February 27th, 2026, Chris Moorman became the father of Mikel Moorman Gonzalez — a moment that gave him the strength to fight his downswing on ACR Poker harder than ever before, ultimately leading to so far unseen success.

Three Phills to Fill a Void

From February 2025 to March 2026, Moorman’s run on ACR Poker was anything but good. Even when he managed to win five or six-figure sums, he inevitably ended up in the red, with losses of almost $145K at his lowest point.

That dynamic has changed thanks to WPN CEO Phil Nagy, or more precisely, special high roller tournaments dedicated to him.

On March 22nd, Moorman won the $2,650 Mini Phil’s Thrill $250K GTD, the special OSS XL edition of this Sunday event. By overcoming a field of 111 entries, Chris earned his first big score of 2026 — $62,437.

That same day, he finished second in the “bigger Phill’s” event — the $10,300 Phil’s Thrill with 56 entries — and took a $112,000 prize. He lost heads-up to David “Down2Muck” Colman, who won $156,800.
When ACR Poker congratulated Moorman on his success via X (formerly Twitter), his reaction was as cool as a cucumber: “Still got it I guess 🤷‍♂️” — and nothing more.

Two weeks later, Moorman won again in the $2,650 Mini Phil’s Thrill with 75 entries, finishing third for a more modest $28,125.

In total, he earned more than $202K in prize money from the three “Phil’s” in two weeks, finally managing to break even for a short while.

The Miracle Sunday Banana

However, Phil’s magic soon wore off and Chris was back down $41K — until WPN’s sweetest Sunday tournament “came to the rescue” on April 19th.

It was none other than $1,050 The Sunday Banana $400K GTD with 525 entries that gave Moorman an opportunity to shine.

He entered the 9-max final table with a solid 46 bb stack, compared to a 34 big blind average, and played fairly conservatively, giving his opponents a chance to knock each other out without taking any unnecessary risks himself.

With this energy, he reached the heads-up against Matas “Pandinho” Cimbolas, who tried to initiate a deal in the very first seconds — but Chris simply wasn’t into it.

In the one-on-one fight, Moonman’s cautiousness vanished without a trace: he quickly tuned the pressure on, and after a short struggle, Matas handed him the victory, taking a respectable second place.

It also brings Moorman’s WPN net profit to over $66K — and we wholeheartedly congratulate him on it!
