Chris Moneymaker Wins the Golden Bong and Reponds to Critiques

Chris Moneymaker Wins the Golden Bong and Reponds to Critiques

The poker legend so big that he’s has been a household name for 23 years now, continues to prove that he remains relevant in poker both live and online from year to year. In April 2026, Chris Moneymaker managed to conquer one of the most expensive series events on ACR Poker as well as respond to those who doubted his skills and victory.

“I am a ACR Poker Hi5 Champion”

This exact phrase was published on X (Twitter) by Chris on April 21st, 2026 after he secured his first The Highest 5 title on ACR Poker.

One buy-in was enough for Moneymaker to emerge victorious from a 51-entry field in the $10,300 The Highest 5 – BIG Fatty 6-Max tournament.

He started the final table of this event as the chip leader, using a mix of patience and luck to keep his edge. He played cautiously but without fear, using good starters exactly as the situation demanded — and the variance smiled on him.

Moneymaker knocked out all but one of his opponents, using not only pocket pairs, as in the examples above, but also “weaker” hands as well.

By the end of the final table, he had grounded himself as much as possible and methodically exploited every opportunity to sustain his lead and also chip away at his opponent’s stack. His efforts were rewarded not only with a title but also $170,850 in prize money.

As a bonus for winning, ACR Poker will send Moneymaker a stylized Hi5 trophy — The Golden Bong — to celebrate his success. And, oh boy, does he need it.

The Variance Hasn’t Been Kind to Moneymaker Over the Year

According to Sharkscope, from February 13th, 2025 to April 21st, 2026, Chris Moneymaker had consistently been losing far more than he ever won back in winnings at ACR Poker.

During this period, his highest point on the chart was $40K in losses, while the lowest was ten times that, reaching a negative $451K.

This fresh win allowed him to reduce his losses to $290K, so a fancy bong will come as a useful gift in this situation.

Whiners and Conspiracy Theorists Rushed to “Congratulate” Moneymaker

The second reason for Moneymaker to chill out a little is adepts of the “RNG favors ambassadors” poker school who were among the first to comment on his victory.

The general idea was that the only compelling reason for his recent success wasn’t his talent or hard work, but his role in the ACR Poker team.

One person claimed that Moneymaker can’t even beat “1/2 at the Orleans”, so the room is definitely rigged and allows its sponsored pros to win.

Chris reacted to the absurd statement quite harshly:

Chris Moneymaker

You know what’s great about ACR Poker is that if you think something is fishy you can go watch the entire final table cards up and see for yourself. Or just be a little bitch online.

Another player suggested that “all the sponsored pros seem to be the only people who consistently win” online, so “If it were anywhere close to being like a live tournament, we’d probably never see site pros posting these screenshots”.

Chris summed up his thoughts with the following words:

Chris Moneymaker

Sure buddy. I win I cheat. I lose I suck. Sounds right.

That said, most commentators were happy for the ACR Poker ambassador, showering him with praise on winning the title. We’re also joining that camp to congratulate Chris Moneymaker on such a remarkable victory!
