PokerListings Operator Awards 2022: Innovation of the Year

PokerListings Operator Awards 2022: Innovation of the Year

Inaugurated in 2020 PokerListings awards the best Poker Operators of the year and presents the pack leaders in the industry. This time it's time to take a look at the nominees for the category Innovation of the year.

Best Poker Innovation of the Year 2022

What is the best new poker product idea this year?

Poker is always evolving and new online games and variants are constantly added across sites.

But which operator came up with the best poker innovation in 2022?

This award goes to the best new product idea this year.

We found four innovations this year, coming from three operators: GGPokers Mystery Bounty, PokerStars VR, GGPokers Ask Fedor and The Festivals Franke´s Flip Flops.

The nominations for Best Poker Innovation 2022

GGPoker - Mystery Bounty

Bounty tournaments continue to be all the rage, and any fan of online poker tournaments worth their salt should make them part of their schedule. Given the popularity of the knockout format, GGPoker’s introduction of Mystery bounties is a fitting extra. As the name suggests, a Mystery bounty has a random value, and could even be a life-changing sum.

Pokerstars VR

Virtual Reality has been around for a while now, and a great deal of research and development has been invested in the technology so that the experience does indeed get increasingly realistic. Immerse yourself in Pokerstars VR and you could find yourself in a setting such as on a Monte Carlo yacht, battling away for real money in a Texas Hold'em cash game or Sit & Go

GGPoker – Ask Fedor

Made a mess of a hand? Confused about how best to handle this or that situation? Wouldn’t it be very useful indeed if we could get help based on the wisdom of one of the world’s leading players? Thanks to the Ask Fedor feature(as in poker phenom Fedor Holz) at GGPoker, budding world-beaters can do just that! Using an AI system powered by PROMETHEUS, this facility provides post-play analysis and evaluation that will hammer your game into shape.

The Festival Series - Franke´s Flip Flops

The Festival Series is a player-friendly poker tour with a difference. As well as a great tournament schedule and non-stop cash games, there are (for example) Blackjack and Sports Betting competitions thrown in, too. Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk, the indefatigable founder of The Festival (next stop: Nottingham, 13-19 February 2023) should have ‘Innovator’ as another middle name, one of his fun creations being Franke’s Flip Flops. The idea is that all-comers at The Festival events are invited to a special Flips table where players face off in flips challenges of various buy-ins... those who rack up the most wins by the end of the week can win tickets, seats and even packages for the next stop of the series!

So, there you have it... worthy nominees indeed.

How the Awards Process Works

The PokerListings editorial team has worked in the online poker business for decades and here we’re presenting the PokerListings Operator Awards - casting a spotlight on the most deserving in the business.

1. Nominations

Throughout the month of November and December, our PokerListings experts present the shortlisted nominees in several different categories: Best for Beginners, Best for Grinders, Best Online Series, Best Overall Software, Innovation of the Year, Poker Operator of the Year, and finally the PokerListings Players' Favorite. You can check all dates on our PokerListings Awards page.

2. Voting

During this Nomination period in December all PokerListings players can vote for our category: Your favorite poker operator of them all. You will find a wider selection of nominees than the other award categories for a better choice. And you can cast your vote (one per person) on our Facebook and Twitter channels. We'll provide results on both outlets as well as our Player Favorite page - along with the other category results.

3. Winners

After a long deliberation throughout this month, we will announce the winners on all our channels at the end of December. Our winners will also be contacted and provided with their badge of honor as this year's winners.
