PokerListings Operator Awards: Operator of the Year

PokerListings Operator Awards: Operator of the Year

Inaugurated in 2020 PokerListings awards the best Poker Operators of the year and presents the pack leaders in the industry. This time it's time to take a look at the nominees for the category Operator of the Year.

Best Poker Operator of the Year 2022

Who will take the Best Poker Operator award win in 2022?

This award goes to the online poker room that performed the best this year.

We're looking for an all-rounder that checked all the right boxes: impressive real-cash games and variants, attentive support, unique and interesting promos, well-managed online series and guarantees will be top of mind. And we’ll also favor player-centric operators that cater for all kinds of poker lovers - and who add to the fun factor in whatever they do.

We limited the list of nominees to 6 operators and there are no big surprises here: GGPoker, PartyPoker, PokerStars, Unibet, WPT Global and 888poker.

PokerStars

PokerStars is the other giant founding father of online poker. The Sunday tournament listing alone pays out incredible amounts in guaranteed prize pools, and the no-nonsense software enjoys well-deserved respect among all players, including seasoned pros.

The operator is also running several major tournament series each year which always attract tens of thousands of players. They also made changes in their online flagship event, Sunday Million, by changing it to a progressive knockout tournament to fit all poker enthusiasts needs.

GGPoker

Having been around only since 2017, GGPoker might be a relative youngster in terms of experience but is already a world-leader. With a user-friendly focus that has attracted all types of players, the fact that poker legends such as Daniel Negreanu have come on board as Pros and a successful partnership with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) formed is testament to the confidence GGPoker inspires.

The operator is also main partner of the WSOP and held the Online WSOP for the 3rd time in 2022 with astonishing player numbers.

888poker

Those of you who were playing online poker during the early days might remember Pacific Poker which, back in 2002, was this operator’s original guise. Today, 888poker continues to maintain its place among the top in the industry, and the 888 brand itself is a big name in itself. A tasty overall poker menu typifies what one comes to expect in a real money poker room.

This, combined with their vast reach, bonuses and recreational player focus make 888poker a serious contender for Poker Operator of the Year 2022.

partypoker

One of the ‘big daddy’ poker operators, partypoker continues to be a major player more than two decades after first helping pave the way for those who followed in the industry. A great tournament schedule combines perfectly with a comprehensive offering of cash games, Sit & Go games and other modern favourites.

Partypoker are revamping their table optics and functionality all the time to give the players the best online experience. A major change was made last years and while the operator still has technical issues every now and then, the new look and the outstanding VIP program earn them their spot on this list.

WPT Global

One WPT Global might have gone live only in the spring of 2022(!), but this rapidly evolving operator has very solid foundations, being the key licensed partner of the famous World Poker Tour (WPT). The advantage of being so new on the scene is that it affords a poker provider a veritable carte blanche to be different and ‘new’, with one such example of WPT Global’s modernity being NFT avatars...

Unibet

Since creating its own platform back in 2014, Unibet has found an impressive way to provide a varied, all-round poker offering while at the same time championing the cause of recreational players. For example, allowing poker fans to change their identity up to three times in a day helps protect them from number-crunching pros.

In 2022 Unibet changed their whole tournament schedule to target more recreational players allowing them to play without needing to stay up all nights to finnish the tournaments.

How the Awards Process Works

The PokerListings editorial team has worked in the online poker business for decades and here we’re presenting the PokerListings Operator Awards - casting a spotlight on the most deserving in the business.

1. Nominations

Throughout the month of November and December, our PokerListings experts present the shortlisted nominees in several different categories: Best for Beginners, Best for Grinders, Best Online Series, Best Overall Software, Innovation of the Year, Poker Operator of the Year, and finally the PokerListings Players' Favorite. You can check all dates on our PokerListings Awards page.

2. Voting

During this Nomination period in December all PokerListings players can vote for our category: Player's Favourite. You will find a wider selection of nominees than the other award categories for a better choice. And you can cast your vote (one per person). We'll provide you with more information in the upcoming days.

3. Winners

After a long deliberation throughout this month, we will announce the winners on all our channels at the end of December. Our winners will also be contacted and provided with their badge of honor as this year's winners.
