Day 3 Live Updates

Zwerner is the winner!

With Jeff Madsen eliminated 3rd that paved the way for a heads up battle between Jack Zwerner and Rusty Mandap. Although Rusty was definately short stacked he managed to keep his head above water for quite some time prompting commentator T.J. Cloutier to mention the Bee Gee song, "Staying Alive." In the end Rusty just couldn't beat Jack's hand of A 8 7 4 on a board of 6 5 3 7 2. Congratulations to Jack Zwerner the 2006 WSOP Event 8 winner.

Negreanu eliminated

Daniel Negreanu has been eliminated in seventh place. He took a big loss against Jeff Madsen when Madsen made a queen-high flush and the nut low with the board showing 9 8 4 6 5 and Madsen holding A Q 10 2. Negreanu mucked that hand and was down to $44,000 in chips. A few hands later, he took another huge hit after calling a raise preflop and mucking postflop, decimating his stack and leaving him with only $10,000. The end didn't take long to come after that, as Negreanu was eliminated a few hands later when his two pair couldn't stand up to his opponent's straight. Kid Poker takes home $48,776 in prize money.
