Fortune Wheel Spin to Win

During holidays, online poker sites usually treat their players with something special. No matter if this is in form of a boosted welcome bonus or a special online poker tournament series, poker operators aim to give a little extra to players during more festive parts of the year.

PokerStars, one of the undisputed greatest online poker sites through all time, are just one of the sites that likes to spice up their tournament schedule during certain holidays. Right now the PokerStars New Year Series is in full flare, and we’ve already been treated with some intriguing action. Not only are there winners that deserve to get some attention, but the tournament schedule also features some, for PokerStars, brand new stuff.

Let’s see what players can expect from the rest of the PokerStars New Year Series 2023!

A Series for the Ages!

The New Year Series kicked off on PokerStars December 24th and will finish on January 16th. A handful of tournaments have already been played, but there’s still a lot of action to look forward to. This isn’t the first time PokerStars have hosted the series and it’s a reoccurring slam dunk. Considering the Buy-Ins are ranging between $5,50 all the way up to $5 200, there’s certainly poker tournaments for all players, no matter your preferred Buy-In.

First Ever PokerStars Mystery Bounty Tournament!

There’s no question about it: Mystery Bounty tournaments has been one of the most popular poker tournament formats during 2023. Players enjoy feeling the excitement of not knowing how big their KO prize will be, and the format require an unique way of playing.

Prior to the New Year Series 2023, PokerStars had never hosted a Mystery Bounty online poker tournament before. Presumably, a lot of players were glad to see both the $11 Mystery Bounty and the $109 Mystery Bounty Sunday Million in the tournament lobby during the series.

Both of the Mystery Bounty tournaments will be played on January 7th. PokerStars really enables all players to enjoy the fun with a mere $11 Buy-In on one of the events. There’s a $250 000 GTD which indicated that this tournament will see a lot of players taking their shot.

Mystery Bounty tournaments on PokerStars really couldn’t debut any better than to be added to the Sunday Million. PokerStars’ Sunday Million is probably the most famous reoccurring online poker tournament through all time and it’s been around for years. January 7th, the $109 Sunday Million will be played in the form of a Mystery Bounty and we can’t wait for the action to unfold!

Main Event

January 14th is when the series really culminate with the New Year Series Main Event! There are actually three different Main Events which has respective Buy-Ins of $109, $1 050 and $5 200. Players have the opportunity to qualify for the Main Events through satellites starting from as little as $0,55. There are also tickets to win through certain Spin & Go’s as well as the PokerStars trademark Power Path.

As previously stated, there’s still a lot more poker to be played during the New Year Series 2024. Don’t miss out on this series that continues to be a success like it has so many years before. Shuffle up and deal!

It may only be a handful of days left for 2023, but the GGPoker train never stops! It’s been a ridiculously good year for GGPoker, and one can understand why. GGPoker are not slowing down and now they’re squeezing out the last little bit of fun in 2023. There are some awesome poker promotions going on at the site right now and players would be very wise to get in on some GGPoker action to start the new poker year in the best possible way.

With that in mind, let’s take a swift look over GGPoker and see how they are closing out 2023 and starting 2024!

During he recent years, social casinos have seen a big upswing. More and more people seem to be attracted to the casino environment that doesn’t infer any financial risk, while there’s still chances to win prizes with real money value.

When talking about social casinos, there’s hard not to think about McLuck. They are maybe the most respected social casino actor on the scene and collaborating with game providers such as Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, 3 Oaks, Relax Gaming and Playson, they have brought players an unforgettable social casino experience throughout the years.

Now, McLuck are taking it to the next level. With their new McJackpot, players on the site have the opportunity to experience a jackpot experience like never before. Get ready for some revolutionary social casino action on McLuck!

“Constant Thrills, Anytime Wins”

The McJackpot is more than just a feature on McLuck; it’s a game changer for sure. Considering the jackpot is available at every game available on the site, all players are guaranteed to always feel that extra thrill of excitement. It doesn’t matter how small the bet may be; the 4-tier jackpot is always there.

So now you’re probably wondering: how does the McJackpot work? Well, it’s actually really simple. Every spin with Gold Coins means an automatic entry to the GC McJackpot, and there are “incredible rewards” to win.

All the Sweepstakes Coins players needs to opt in for the SC Jackpot. When doing this, players enable themselves to win SC prizes that exceeds the ordinary. Considering it’s only a small addition in form of 0,10 SC, it’s a no brainer to opt in for the SC Jackpot.

As previously mentioned, the Jackpot is a 4-tier one. This means that there are four levels of the Jackpot that players have the opportunity to win. Since the minimum Jackpots payouts are 5 SC and 10 000 GC the Jackpot really is, as previously mentioned, an absolute game-changer.

Big McLuck Wins in Recent Times

McLuck really are one of “the big boys” when it comes to the social casino scene. They have faithful visitors who frequently visist their site, and for good reason. In recent times, they’ve seen some big winners on their site. For example. Penny S managed to win a whopping 819 651,78 SC through the popular game Tembular Temple.

Amanda C did not intend to underperform and managed to win a very impressive 495 513,86 SC. She accomplished this feat through 3 Pots Riches: Hold and Win, and all by only doing a 1,20 SC spin. There’s no doubt that these winnings are proof that the possibilites at McLuck are, to say at the least, endless.

We’re approaching the end of 2023 and there’s no doubt that it’s been quite the year at McLuck. When it comes to social casinos, it’s a no brainer to give McLuck a visit. Head over there now and chase the ultimate McJackpot!

And so, it is finally time for Category 7 and 8 in the PokerListings Awards 2023! That means we are approaching the end, considering we have nine categories in total. In our previous articles, you can read more about all the earlier categories and the nominees.

In Category 1 and 2, we revealed our nominees for best poker operator for beginners, as well as best poker operator for grinders. Category 7 will see six poker operators face off against each other for the title best poker operator overall. This could be considered one of the most prestigious categories out of all.

Category 8 is quite the interesting one, seeing as we will nominate no less that six poker streamers, who will all battle it out for the title “Best Poker Streamer of 2023”.

With that said, let’s dive into the categories and see who are the nominees!

Category 7 – Best Poker Operator Overall

Wow. Just imagine being a poker operator and being voted “best overall”. This category surely is one that all of the nominees wants to win.

What we are looking for, are poker operators that are exceeding in all of the departments that we went over in Category 1 and 2. That means, for example, having good poker bonuses. WPT Global is one of the nominees on the list partly thanks to their WPT Global signup bonus. Not only do you get a 100% bonus on your first deposit, but you can also claim tournament tickets. The value of the tickets depends on the amount of your deposit.

Low rake is also a highly appreciated feature amongst poker players. The low PokerStars rake is not the only reason they made it to the list, but it certainly contributes. PokerStars offers as low as 3,30% rake on certain tables.

All the nominees for Category 7 are:

PokerStars
GGPoker
partypoker
Coolbet
JackPoker
WPT Global

Category 8: Best Poker Streamer

At this point, Twitch has been around for a long time and even though they were not even close to being the first live streaming service, one must admit they took it to another level. Eventually poker players started streaming their sessions on the site and it’s been a very important factor in giving poker a good reputation and attracting new players to the game.

PokerListings Awards 2023: Best Poker Streamer

When streaming poker online, the streamer must put on a good amount on delay (thus eliminating the risk of any player seeing the streamers hole cards in real time). Because of this, it can be hard for a streamer to have a good interaction with the crowd. Those who still manages to have a good interaction with their viewers even though they are streaming with delay are truly professionals at their jobs.

Another important aspect of streaming poker is to keep your focus and control when going deep in a poker tournament. Just imagine: you are playing heads up for the WSOP Online 2023 title, and at the same time, you are streaming with the purpose to share the joy and deliver good content to your viewers. Girafganger7 did just this earlier this year, which is why he is one of the six nominees.

All the nominees for Category 8 are:

CallMeLilja
Kevinmartin
Girafganger7
Tom_Poker_NL
LexVeldhuis
PokerStaples247

In a couple of days, we will move on the 9th and last category of the PokerListings Awards 2023 – Players favourite. Stay tuned!

The 2023 WPT World Championship came to an end, but not before the final table was played out, ultimately crowning Daniel Sepiol as the surprising champion. Amidst a field of 3,835 contenders competing for a slice of the colossal $40 million guaranteed prize pool, the final six players, including Ben Heath, Chris Moorman, and Artur Martirosian, battled it out for prestige and the ultimate top prize.

5Georgios Sotiropoulos46,200,00039 bb
6Chris Moorman88,300,00074 bb

At the start of the final table, Andrew Lichtenberger held a substantial chip lead while Sepiol found himself among the shorter stacks. However, Sepiol’s effective manoeuvres swiftly altered the table dynamics. A key moment arose when Sepiol executed a daring bluff against the experienced Lichtenberger when he three-barrelled all-in with King High.

WPT Global WPT World Championship 2023

Sepiol’s momentum continued when he clashed with Ben Heath, eventually clinching the chip lead despite starting the day with fewer resources. Heath’s elimination followed a series of unfortunate hands, propelling Sotiropoulos into contention as Sepiol’s primary rival. As the field narrowed, Chris Moorman‘s departure in fourth place intensified the three-handed battle, setting the stage for the ultimate climax.

After the top favorites were out, Sepiol kept on crushing his opponents, resulting in a swift elimination of Lichtenberger when Sepiol’s Jacks did hold against the Ace-King of Lichtenberger. Sepiol now was in a major position to take down the whole poker tournament, going into the heads-up with a massive chip lead.

WPT Global WPT World Championship 2023 Final Table

Sepiol, who had already two Main Event titles on his name, of which one was a World Series of Poker Circuit event, became popular when he won a social media contest a couple of years ago and won a seat at a home game of DJ Steve Aoki and Phil Ivey.

Now it was time for the Sepiol show to end with a triumph in the World Poker Tour World Championship, but first, he had to take care of Greek Poker Pro Sotiropoulos. It was Sepiol who outlasted the Greek, when he spiked a 3 on the turn, holding K 3 against the K Q of his opponent.

Sepiol showcased a perfect final table poker strategy, which surely will bring him many more titles in the upcoming period. With this title, he boosted his bankroll with a massive $5,282,954 payday. For sure it was a tournament to never forget for the young American from the state of Indiana.

Watch here the full final table action of the WPT World Championship 2023:

It’s time for Category 5 and 6 in the prestigious PokerListings Awards 2023! Earlier this week, we elaborated on Category 3 and 4 and revealed the nominees for each category, and today we will do the same for the upcoming two categories.

Today, we’re in for a treat as we’re looking at two very intriguing categories. Category 5 is titled “Best Software” and we’ll tell you about the six operators that we think have stood out this year in terms of good poker software.

In Category 6, we’ll try to identify the best poker innovation of 2023. We’ve sure have had a lot to choose from and there are some serious contenders that are nominated for this category. Without further ado, let’s get right to it!

Category 5 – Best Software

In Category 5, we will see six different poker operators compete about the award for best software. It doesn’t matter in what extent you play online poker: a smooth poker software is crucial for you in order to enjoy your experience at the tables.

One of many aspects we’ll be looking at is a good GUI (graphical user interference). A clean design means players will have an easy time navigating the software. GGPoker exhibits a very user-friendly GUI which is one of the reasons they are on the list. Thanks to their well-structured client, it’s easy to find GGPoker tournaments.

We’re also looking for poker softwares that offers many different game types. No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha in all its glory, but some players prefer to mix it up with other poker games. Considering PokerStars Mixed Games supply, they are a given contender for the trophy in Category 5.

Certain in-game features facilitates a lot for poker players and allows them to get the most out of their online poker sessions. A good example of this is the iPoker network and their integrated HUD which collects and displays useful data on the opponents. A lot of sites have unique iPoker skins and such, iPoker is a nominee in this category.

All the nominees for Category 5 are:

iPoker
EvenBet Gaming
PokerStars
GGPoker
888poker
SwC Poker

Category 6: Best Poker Innovation

We’re astounded by people’s ability to keep finding new ways to evolve poker. Of course, this is crucial not only for keeping the game still relevant, but also intriguing new players and making the poker community grow.

There’s been a lot of good poker innovations in 2023. When it comes to community growth, GGPoker did a great job through “Game of Gold”. This poker TV series with a reality series-like twist could possibly be the best poker TV production through all time and it has made a lot more people getting interested in poker.

PokerListings Awards 2023: best Poker Inovation

Olympic Casino and Olybet made a great move and launched the world’s first ever women only poker festival – the Queens of Tallinn. Inclusiveness is very important not only in poker but in the society as a whole, and it was a great initiative to create this opportunity for women in poker.

It’s always nice when poker entities gives Mixed Games the action that it deserves. The fact that SwC Poker introduced Drawmaha Poker/Sviten Special on their site was a good move, considering it’s one of the most popular Mixed Games in Scandinavia.

All the nominees for Category 6 are:

Game of Gold (GGPoker)
Celebrity Challenge (Global Poker)
NAPT & The Big Game (PokerStars)
Sviten Special/Drawmaha Poker (SwC Poker)
Queens of Tallinn (Olympic Casino and Olybet)

Welcome Lootbox

JackPoker has always had great welcome bonuses and offers to their players. Yet, they find ways to improve these benefits even more. They are now introducing their Welcome LootBox

Players will receive the lootbox when they make their first deposit on the site. The lootbox guarantees 25% rakeback on that said first deposit, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Except the awesome rakeback deal, players may also get lucky and find any of the following in the box:

  • 1000 % Instacash.
  • $500 Bonus Bonanza Ticket.
  • 300 Freespins.

It’s really simple for the players to get their hands on the lootboxes. After registering your JackPoker account, you’ll get the opportunity to play the Welcome Lootbox Minigame. Your goal in this minigame is, fittingly enough, to find the Jacks. Then you make your deposit and voilá: you receive your rewards.

Skiing Quests

The next Christmas gift that JackPoker are giving us is the Skiing Quests Promotion. We’ve grown acquainted with the JackPoker quest module by now. This time, it’s 29 quests that are divided into the three categories: cash games, tourneys and casino. Each category then has its three different tiers in terms of difficulty: easy, medium and hard.

The Skiing Quests are available December 18th-January 31st. Players would be very wise bringing their A-game, considering there’s a $20 0000 dedicated to the quests. The more you exceed in the quests, they bigger our slice out of the $20 000 ought to be.

Winter Elf PKO Series

In a world of uncertainties, one thing’s for sure: everyone loves a PKO series. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that JackPoker are hosting the Winter ELF PKO Series December 22nd-January 14th!

The Winter ELF PKO Series will offer no less than five PKO tournaments a day during the series. What’s better, on the final day of the series, the 14th of January, there will be two Main Events. JackPoker decided to put icing on the cake: if you find the winter elf on your table and manage to knock him out, you’ll get an extra boosted bounty worth half of the Buy-In for that specific online tournament.

Who doesn’t love a deepstack poker tournament? Thanks to the lovely people over at 888poker, we’re now thrilled to announce that we will be hosting an exclusive PokerListings tournament at their amazing poker client. These Nuts

The PokerListings Exclusive tournament will be available on the 888poker client December 21st, 19:00 GMT. The tournament is played in a deepstack format. The tournament has a $10 Buy-In. It is also possible to do Re-Buys and Add-Ons in the tournament. As per usual, Re-Buys are possible during the late registration period and the Add-On can be done after the late-reg. What’s more, the tournament has a $1 000 GTD!

Make sure not to forget that the tournament is password protected. The password is, fittingly enough, “winterishere”. Without citations, no captions.

The ChampionChip Series was one of their most noteworthy online poker promotions of 2023. This series featured a lot of tournament with smaller Buy-Ins and high guarantees, allowing all poker players to participate no matter their bank roll. Good luck to all players participating in the PokerListings Deepstack tournament at 888poker December 21st, and remember to have fun at the tables!

The Olympic Park Casino in Tallinn is a great venue for live poker events. Earlier this year, they hosted the WSOPE Tallinn, which was the first time a World Series of Poker Europe-event ever touched north-European soil.

Now, Olympic Park Casino will once again roll out the red carpet, seeing as they will welcome Kings of Tallinn, an unforgettable live poker event that makes its grand return in the beginning of 2024! We’ve now been treated with the schedule and boy, do we have some interesting poker to look forward to. Let’s take a look at the Kings of Tallinn 2024 schedule!

Northern Europe’s Biggest Poker Festival

Kings of Tallinn have delivered unforgettable live poker festivals in their past, and nothing speaks about the 2024 edition being anything less than a huge success. The schedule features more than 50 tournaments, and it’s a good mix of classic games such as Texas NLH and PLO, as well as some Mixed Games like Deuce-To-Seven, Sviten and PLO 4/5/6.

The Event will take place February 23rd-March 3rd, and as previously mentioned, the Olympic Park Casino is the venue that Kings of Tallinn organizers OlyBet have chosen. The Olympic Park Casino makes up almost the entire ground floor of the Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel; players would be very wise securing a room at the Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel in order to stay close to the action at all time.

Kings of Tallinn Championship and the Main Event

A very good tournament schedule overall indeed, however, there are some key events that deserves to be highlighted. One of the tournaments that tickles a little extra is the €555 Kings of Tallinn Championship. This Texas NLH tournament has four day 1 flights. The survivors will then move on to day 2, before the final nine will battle it out in the day 3 action. A big USP is that players can buy in directly to Day 2 until 14:20 (UTC+2).

A Lot of Other Good Stuff

As previously stated, there’s more than 50 tournaments to choose from in the Kings of Tallinn 2024 schedule. All the poker queens ought to mark March 2nd in the calendar when it’s time for the €150 Queens of Tallinn Special 2024 NLH Mystery Bounty tournament. This tournament is exclusive for ladies and it will be very interesting to see who will be crowned the superior queen!

We also have some high roller action in form of the €5 000 High Roller. This Texas NLH-tournament will be played 6-handed, giving all participants the opportunity to showcase all of their poker skills.

We’re so thrilled for Kings of Tallinn 2024, and we can’t wait to follow the action from the Estonian capital!

Few, in any, live poker tournaments has been as hyped as the WPT World Championship this year. The $10 400 tournament is currently taking place at the Wynn Las Vegas, and players are competing for a share of the $40 000 000 prize pool. Let’s take a look at what’s been happening in the WPT World Championship 2023 so far!

Overlay Alert

The WPT World Championship promised a $40 000 000 GTD. There were four day 1 flights in the schedule, and a total of 3 835 entries were made in the tournament. Even though there’s some overlay in the tournament, the organizers should be pleased: they’ve created one of the biggest live poker events through all time, and there’s roughly 30% more players competing than last year.

When this article is being written, the day 4 action has just concluded and there are 45 players remaining in the tournament. They are all competing for the first place payout of $5 678 000. There have been many big names in this years WPT World Championship; David Peters, Huck Seed, Shaun Deeb and Joe Cada, to name a few.

When players bagged their chips after day 4, Mark Mounsey could be determined the chip leader. Prior to play on day 5 he has 18 725 000, however, he’s closely trailed by a handful other players. Day 5 will bring a lot of exciting action for sure!

9.Alex Jauregui12 225 000

Out of the remaining players we also find Princess Love Norwood, the reality TV star who is known from series such as One Mo’ Chance and The Deadly Getaway.

There’s been some great plays in the tournament so far. For example, on the bubble Joe Hachem 3-bet K K from UTG+1 after Ben Bianco initially opened the pot from UTG. Action was folded to Bianco who quickly 4-bet All In, and after a minute’s consideration, Hachem managed to fold his kings. Hachem managed to get in the money but busted as 223rd earning $25 500.

$1 000 000 WPT Big One for One Drop

Parallel with the WPT World Championship, the $1 000 000 WPT Big One for One Drop is also being played at the Wynn. There are few tournaments with a bigger Buy-In than the One for One Drop, and 17 players decided to throw their name into the competition. This means that four players will be in the money and at this current stage, there are 14 people remaining. Busting out on day 1 was poker legend Phil Ivey. There are a lot more recognizable players in the tournament, such as Fedor Holz, Isaac Haxton and Jason Koon. They are all chasing the first place payout consisting of $7 114 500.

There is a lot of action still to unfold in the WPT World Championship, so make sure to stay tuned!

Ladies and gentlemen, get ready: it’s time for Category 3 and 4 in the PokerListings Awards 2023!

Presumably, no one has missed that the PokerListings Awards 2023 are up and running. Every year, the PokerListings team nominates a list of poker entities that has stood out in certain categories during the year that has been. Last week, we revealed Category 1 and 2 – best poker operator for beginners and grinders – and listed which poker operators we thought deserved a place on these very prestigious lists.

This week it’s time for Category 3 and 4. Online poker tournament series and live poker events play crucial parts in the poker community and it will take a lot for a series/event to deserve a place on the list. Let’s take a look at what we’re looking for in each of the two categories, as well as the nominees for this year!

Category 3: Best Online Poker Tournament Series

2023 was an absolute crazy year in terms of online poker series. Different series have been running all year long and they only keep getting better and better.

A few key elements needs to be executed to perfection in order for an online tournament series to stand out. One of them, of course, is the guarantee. Unless there are high guarantees in the series, players won’t be too interested in participating, it’s as simple as that. The huge WCOOP guarantee of $80 000 000 earned PokerStars a place on the list.

A large field of players is also an attractive feature that enlightens an online poker tournament series further and makes it “the talk of the town”. This, of course, often goes hand in hand with a good tournament schedule. The Bounty Hunter Series schedule did not disappoint this year. This GGPoker series focused solely on bounty tournaments and there were a ton of players participating in every tournament.

PokerListings Awards 2023: Best Online Poker Tournament Series

When you win a big online tournament that’s part of a series, you’ll obviously want something that can help you remember your achievement for years to come. To receive a trophy or similar really means a lot to players. It wasn’t a hard decision to put the WSOP Online on the list. Few, if any, awards are more prestigious in online poker than a WSOP Online bracelet.

The last factors we’re taking into account for this category are good structures and Buy-Ins. JackPoker deserved a place on the list. The Freeroll Festival Winners increased their bankroll significantly during this risk-free series.

All the nominees for category three are:

WSOP Online (GGPoker)
WCOOP (PokerStars)
The Festival Online (888poker)
Bounty Hunter Series (GGPoker)
K.O Series (partypoker)
Freeroll Festival (JackPoker)

Category 4: Best Live Poker Tournament Event

There are few things better than feeling the thrill of live poker! We’re taking similar factors in account for live poker tournament events as we did for online series. The Festival Series schedule earned them a place on this list; in their most recent event in Bratislava, they featured many Mixed Games, which was very appreciated by the players.

Regarding poker tournaments in North America, it was good news that the NAPT made their comeback this year. The NAPT guarantee $1 500 000 for the Main Event during the Las Vegas stop contributed to them earning a place on our list.

Good structures and Buy-Ins are as important on the live poker scene as it is online. APT earned a place on the list, partially because of their range of Buy-Ins. A poker tournament in Asia hits different, something that the APT Main Event winner Chu Van Tien surely could agree on.

Who doesn’t love some live poker in Malta? The partypoker Millions was held at Portomaso Casino earlier this year and the partypoker Millions trophy did not disappoint. What’s even better, partypoker Millions qualifier on partypoker ran continuously, allowing players to secure their spot for a cheaper price. Online qualifiers are very important in this category.

All the nominees for category 4 are:

WSOP
The Festival Series
EPT
APT
NAPT
partypoker Millions

Be sure to visit us in a couple of days again, when we’ll reveal Category 5 and 6!

That’s a wrap for EPT 2023, folks! After visiting Paris, Barcelona and Cyprus, the last stop for the EPT in 2023 was held in Prague. Seven events were played between December 6th-17th. Three of them were Eureka events, and the other four were versified EPT Events. Naturally, a lot of focus were on the €5 300 EPT Main Event, which turned out to be very dramatic in the end.

Let’s take a look at what happened during EPT Prague 2023!

Padraig O’Neill Conquers

EPT Prague 2023 was an absolute blockbuster of a live poker event. 936 unique players battled it out for the title, and 349 re-entries were made. This meant 1 285 entries in the Main Event, which surpassed last year’s record of 1 267.

With a €6 232 250 prize pool and €1 030 000 up top, there was a lot to fight for. After six days, it was time for the final five players to battle it out for the trophy. At this point, there was only one name on everyone’s mind: Jon Kyte. The Norwegian bagged the chiplead both day 3 and 4 and when he entered the final table, he had 23 million in chips. Closest to Kyte was Chenh Zhao who had roughly 8 million.

It wasn’t until the three-handed play that Irishman Padraig O’Neill overtook Kyte’s chiplead. O’Neill almost were the first one to bust during the final day when he flipped with pocket fours against Kyte’s ace-king combo. Now suddenly, he was the chipleader.

Eventually Umberto Ruggeri was eliminated in third place and it was time for Heads-Up play. At this point, Padraig held a 4-1 chiplead over Kyte. Little did they know they were in for a rollercoaster-ride. One pot here, one pot there, and suddenly Kyte was once again chip leader. Players took turns trading blows and the poker audience were treated with amazing bluffs and well-calculated bets. It truly was a poker show!

Time went on and O’Neill won a couple of pots back to back. Kyte was now bleeding and he had roughly six big blinds when O’Neill put the Norwegian all in. Kyte didn’t have much choice other than calling with 10 5 . O’Neill turned over K 10 . Was this going to be O’Neill’s unforgettable moment? The flop came Q 9 3 . Then turn 2 . With the river 9 it was over. O’Neill had successfully accomplished an insane comeback and took home the EPT Prague 2023!

EPT Prague 2023 Padraig O’Neill

O’Neill understandably had a hard time taking the win in:

“It feels amazing. It just happened. It hasn’t sunk in. I was hoping to get fourth. Third would’ve been amazing. To get Heads-Up, I never thought it would’ve happened.”

Even though Jon Kyte might feel disappointed right now, the Norwegian can look back at a good year, winning big in both WSOPE Tallinn and the Festival Bratislava.

Once again, EPT fulfilled the year with great live poker stops. They recently announced the EPT Schedule 2024 and we can’t wait for the action to unfold!

When the WSOP Paradise was announced earlier this year, players and overall poker enthusiasts became excited, and we can understand why. Live poker action at the tropical Bahamas – what’s not to like?

The event was played at the Atlantis Paradise Island December 3rd-14th, and it’s safe to say that the WSOP Paradise was a huge success. According to GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu, every guarantee was met for all of the fifteen key events. We get a feeling that the WSOP Paradise is here to stay and hopefully, we will see a comeback at the Bahamas next year.

A lot of exciting stuff has been happening during the WSOP Paradise. Let’s take a look at the noteworthy winners from the WSOP Paradise 2023!

Stanislav Zegal’s Road to Paradise

A total of 3 010 entries were made in the $5 000 Main Event. This made sure the guarantee was surpassed with $50 000 and with a first place payout of $2 000 000, all players were eager to claim the title.

May we present the first ever WSOP Paradise Main Event winner – Stanislav Zegal! Zegal secured his spot to the tournament through the “Road to Paradise” promotion over at GGPoker. To go through the qualifying stage and then to emerge as the winner is an incredible feat.

Heads Up Zegal defeated Michael Sklenicka. On blinds 600 000/1 200 000, Sklenicka opened to 2,7M with 7 3 from the button. Zegal opted to defend his Big Blind with J 4 .

The flop came 10 2 4 and Zegal checked. Sklenicka fired out a bet and Zegal decided to call with his pair of fours. Both players checked on the Q turn that led to the river, which fell 5 . Zegal checked and Sklenicka went all in for 16M. After a couple of minutes, Zegal made the tough call that led him to victory!

Zegal showed off some great poker skills during the WSOP Paradise, but he also felt the luck was on his side:

“I was so lucky, the cards just fell my way all the time. I think I played well too, but obviously there’s tons of luck. This is what you call life-changing money, I guess.”

High Roller Action

A total of 15 Bracelet Events were played during the WSOP Bahamas. Eric Seidel elevated his already legendary status by claiming his 10th WSOP Bracelet after winning the $50 000 Super High Roller. After his win, he jumped straight into the $100 000 Ultra High Roller. The back-to-back win for Seidel will have to wait a little longer, seeing as Japan’s Masashi Oya won the event that held the biggest Buy-In.

It’s that time of the year again! We’ve been so excited for this day to come, and now we’re finally here. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to PokerListings Awards 2023!

During the last stretch of 2023 we, the PokerListings team, will select winners in nine different categories. 2023 has been an incredible good year when it comes to poker and such, we have a lot of qualified nominees for each category. However, there can only be one winner per category.

In the following days, we will go through the categories and highlight the key features that the contestants need to master in order to have a chance at taking home the trophies. We will also reveal all the nominees we have for each category.

Today we will take you through the first two categories. Without further ado, let’s get down to it!

Category 1: Best Poker Operator for Beginners

Just like all sports, games and other leisure activities, there needs to be growth. Growth in poker accomplishes two things: it keeps the game alive overall, but first and foremost it introduces new players to this fantastic game that we all love.

The online poker sites plays a huge – if not the biggest – part in contributing to growth in poker. Poker beginners want to begin their journey on a site that can live up to the expectations that they have for game.

PokerListings Awards 2023: Best Poker Operators for Beginners

With that in mind, it’s crucial for poker sites to exceed in certain areas. The PokerStars deposit bonus, for example, is one of many things that made us put them on the list. By offering players a 100% bonus up to $600 dollars when making their first deposit, beginners will have a much easier journey building their bankroll.

Another important aspect is rake. The low WPTGlobal rake earned them a place on our list. With only 3-4 % rake, a lot of the money is going straight into the players pockets.

Other fundamentals for a site to have in order to be beginner friendly are generous withdrawal limits, a good supply of both online poker tournaments and cash games, and good welcome offers, just like the JackPoker Signup Bonus.

The nominees for Category 1 are:

PokerStars
TigerGaming
partypoker
888poker
JackPoker
WPT Global

Category 2: Best Poker Operator for Grinders

There are a lot of poker players out there grinding it out, playing a low variance game and winning slowly but steady. Grinders are always looking for sites that can make their sessions a simpler task.

The 888poker rakeback put them on the list. With up to 50 % rakeback at the cash game-tables, grinders would have no issues taking it to the 888poker tables.

PokerListings Awards 2023: Best Poker Operators for Grinders

We also find ACR Poker on the list, partially thanks to the ACR rake races that goes under the name “the Beast”. This weekly rake race could earn you some free tournament tickets.

GGPoker’s loyalty points programme “Fish Buffet” gave them a place on the list. To put it simple, players on GGPoker earn rewards based on their playing activity on the site. The GGPoker merchandise that can be won through tournaments from time to time is also appealing to grinders.

For a grinder, it’s also important to be able to handle deposits/withdrawals with ease. Generous limits for both deposits and withdrawals are vital. Unibet Poker’s decent wallet limit is one of their selling points that earned them a place on the list of nominees.

The nominees for Category 2 are:

PokerStars
GGPoker
888poker
ACR Poker
BetOnline
Unibet

Make sure to tune in next week when we’re revealing Category 3 and 4. The winners or each category will be revealed later, so stay tuned!

At this point, GGPoker just feels like an eternity machine that’s constantly spitting out new poker promotions, series and offers to their players, the one even better than the other. It just feels like whatever they do it turns out a massive success, and it’s really no surprise that they are the world’s biggest poker site.

In most recent times, GGPoker has been involved in the WSOP Paradise, mainly through their Road to Paradise series which gave players the opportunity to qualify for the poker adventure of the dream. Prior to this, they produced Game of Gold, the poker TV series that took the community be storm and has been referred to as the best poker entertainment production of all time.

There’s no sign of GGPoker slowing down and right now they have no less than four amazing winter promotions. Their dedication to take care of their players are unmatched, and these promotions speaks for themselves. Let’s take a look at what’s happening at GGPoker during this festive season!

No less than $15M are put into the packages for the GGPoker players to share. If this isn’t the perfect Christmas gift for any online poker player, we don’t know what is.

#Thanks2023 – Get Ready for the Grand Finale Bash!

In order to bid farewell to yet another very successful year, GGPoker will host the EndofYear #Thanks2023 $1M Flipout Poker Tournament. The concept is simple: players will flip, shuffle and deal their way to glory. The winners will take a slice of the $1M jackpot. GGPoker won’t waste any time and they are ensuring 2024 will be a good poker year from the get-go. January 1st-12th it’s time for the 12 Days of Resolution promotion. During this period, players can choose their preferred game type and complete quests. If you conquer, you’ll be qualified for an invite-only Flipout tournament which’s prize pool exceeds $2M. The $50M GTD Winter Giveaway Series

Last but certainly not least: today is the start of the Winter Giveaway Series which holds a $50M GTD! All the way until January 15th this series is running, and from what we’ve heard so far, this online poker series will set the standard for the rest of the year. You can read everything worth knowing about the Winter Giveaway Series on PokerListings!

GGPoker has been a giant on the poker scene since they first stepped onto it, and they keep getting better and better every year. We advise all players to head over to their site and check out their amazing promotions during the winter season!

Last week, we told you about all the good stuff that’s happening at JackPoker during December. With an improved welcome bonus for new players as well as thrilling BombPot quest hunting, good ol’ Jack made sure that Christmas would come early this year.

Welcome bonuses and PLO5 BombPots in all honor, but what’s really not to miss out on is the Christmas Fair! This tournament series kicked off December 1st and we’re roughly halfway into the bonanza before it will conclude on December 21st. What’s unique about this series is that they focus on low buy-in online tournaments but still have high GTD’s. In fact, a minimum of $350 000 will be distributed to all winners through the series. If that isn’t a Christmas gift worthy of poker kings, we don’t know what is.

As previously mentioned, there’s already been some action in the JackPoker Christmas Fair, and there still is a lot to come. With that in mind, let’s take a quick gander at what you’ve might have missed, as well as what’s to come.

Let’s be real: we’ve all been dreaming about playing the biggest live poker tournament events. Feeling the thrill of going deep in an EPT has been described as an incredible feeling, and we can understand why. Just being in the same room as well-renowned poker professionals ought to be enough to give any poker enthusiast goosebumps.

When it comes to live poker events, it’s hard not to think about the European Poker Tour. More commonly referred to as EPT, the tour has been a massive success ever since its first event back in 2004. It’s really no surprise that the EPT set the standard for live poker events considering it’s created by PokerStars, and they have been managing the tour for roughly two decades now.

Now your dream of playing the EPT could become a reality. Earlier this year PokerStars launched Power Path, and it will take you all the way to the biggest live poker tournaments!

Win Your EPT Packages Through Power Path

The Power Path concept is simple yet extremely beneficial. You could think of it like a ladder that has four steps and in the final one, you’ll have a chance to win either a Bronze-, Silver- or a Gold Power Pass.

The first step is a delicate $0,50 Spin & Go. These tournaments are available in an “on demand”-like format. When you take your seat at a Spin & Go table, a spinning wheel will appear that decides what’s at stakes.

Power Path Spin N’ Go Prizes and Probability

PrizeProbability
$10 300 Gold Power Pass1 in 1 000 000
$2 500 Silver Power Pass10 in 1 000 000
$109 Bronze Power Pass500 in 1 000 000
$11 Power Path Step 3 Ticket11 500 in 1 000 000
$1,50 Power Path Step 2 Ticket351 422 in 1 000 000
$1 Power Path Step 2 Ticket (Sit N’ Go)636 567 in 1 000 000

So, already through the first step you could win a Gold Power Pass, which you can use to finance any EPT stop of your choice (or selected big online poker tournaments if you’d rather prefer that).

As can be understood from the table above, the Spin & Go’s will most likely take you to step 2 in Power Path. If you win in step 2, you’ll go through to step 3 and if you win in step 3, you’ll get to step 4. Step 4 is played in the form of a $109 MTT, and the player who manages to win the tournament will receive a Gold Power Pass. The runner-ups will have to settle with Silver- and Bronze Power Passes – which is quite the consolation prize!

It should be mentioned that players could choose to buy in directly to step 2 and/or 3, however, in order to participate in step 4 you’ll need to acquire a ticket through the qualifying steps.

Ladies and gentlemen, we’re approaching the end of 2023. Goodness gracious, what a year it has been for all poker lovers. We’ve been treated with amazing live poker events, thrilling online poker tournament series, flawless poker productions. We’ve seen great poker players cementing their legendary status, new stars have been born, and online poker sites have become even better in every aspect.

We’re spoiled, that’s for sure. Like we always do at PokerListings around this time of year, we’ve once again decided to reminisce about the year that bas been and identify the best poker entities of 2023. Buckle up, people: it is time for the PokerListings Awards 2023!

This year, we have no less than nine different categories and we, the PokerListings team, will together choose one winner for every category that has stood out during 2023. Let’s take a look at what categories we have this year!

Category 1: Best Poker Operator for Beginners

In Category 1, we will identify the best poker operator for new players who recently started exploring the fantastic game of poker. Features that a site should have in order to be appealing for poker beginners are good bonuses, relevant raking conditions, supply of tournaments/cash games and more. partypoker won this award last year thanks to them being very appealing to beginners through affordable online poker tournaments and an easy-to-use poker client.

Category 2: Best Poker Operator for Grinders

For poker grinders, it’s essential to play on a site that makes the sessions as profitable as possible. Rakeback, generous withdrawals limits, and features listed in Category 1 are essentials for this category. Much thanks to having the ability to adapt tables to different tournament types, 888poker snagged this trophy last year.

Category 3: Best Online Poker Tournament Series

One thing’s for certain: we’ve had a lot of good online poker tournament series this year. Series with high GTD’s, large player fields, appealing awards/trophies, optimized structures and more are crucial for a series to have a chance to win Category 3. GGPoker’s World Series of Poker Online earned this award in 2022.

Category 4: Best Live Poker Tournament Series

Live poker tournament series have been played all across the globe in 2023. The same requirements as for Category 3 applies, as well whether or not players could qualify through online satellites. This category is brand new in the PokerListings Awards!

Category 5: Best Software

The value of a good software should not be underestimated. A good GUI (graphical user interface), chat/emojis, an easy-navigated lobby and more are characteristics for a good software, and there are some serious contenders in category 5. Last year, PokerStars took home the category, much thanks to how customizable of a site it is.

Category 6: Best Poker Innovation

When it all comes down to it, poker is just a game played with a 52-card standard deck. Yet, people keep finding ways of developing new products circulating around poker and keeping the game interesting. There’s been a lot of good poker innovations during this year, and the one contributing to growth in the poker community has a good chance at winning category 6. GGPoker’s innovation “Ask Fedor” won last year. Through this AI-tool, players could submit a hand and get Fedor Holz’ opinion on it.

Category 7: Best Poker Operator, Overall

There can only be one: what poker operator really stood out this year, appealing to both beginners, recreationals and grinders? Winning this category would surely be a big sign of approval. Last year GGPoker won this award, considering how much they developed their site during 2022.

Category 8: Best Poker Streamer

Poker streamers are doing an amazing job creating a lot of entertainment around poker. A poker streamer that really can connects with his or hers audience and make the viewers feel the thrill when going deep in a tournament will have a good shot of taking home Category 8.

Category 9: Players Favorite

The last category is maybe the most exciting one: players favorite. This is where you players will vote on what poker operator has brought you the most joy during 2023. We will have a poll on our website where you can vote. The poll will start the 26th of December and it will be open until the 31st. Don’t miss out on voting: 10 voters will be chosen randomly and receive tournament tickets worth $18-22 that can be used on the winning site! Last year, you players voted PokerStars the winner.

The PokerListings Awards 2023 is the highlight of the year! We’ve been covering all the aspects of poker during the year and we have some great candidates for each category. Stay tuned as the nominees for each category soon will be announced! Meanwhile, check out our PokerListings Awards 2022 winners. Do you think anyone will make a classic back-to-back category win?

No, we’re not talking about the 90’s sitcom starring Michael J. Fox. Spin City won’t air on TV this time. Instead, the action is over at the WPT Global tables where you will spin your way to glory every week. Through their new fast-paced Global Spins, you’ll battle it out against your competitors for a slice of a prize-pool that can be up to 6 000 times your Buy-In! Get ready folks: this is some spin action you do not want to miss out on!

Always Spinnin’

Global Spins is WPT Global’s refined version of an old players favorite. Every day, the Global Spins will run around the clock. The concept is as simple as it can get. when three players have registered for a Global Spins game, they will simply be seated at the table. Then, the WPT Global spinning wheel will decide how large the prize pool will be. Watching this wheel spinning is a thrill in itself, considering the prize can range from two times the Buy-In, all the way up to 6 000 times!

Everyone can participate in the Global Spins. Buy-Ins are ranging between $1-$250 and the poker games are being played with a turbo structure where the blinds increase every six hands. Each game takes roughly six minutes, so you have all the time in the world getting some spins in now and then.

Progressive Jackpots Will Boost the Prize Pool

Just when you thought things couldn’t get even better, WPT Global throws another curve ball at us. Like previously mentioned, the Global Spins are available at different stake levels. At each level, 1 % from each Buy-In will be added to a Progressive Jackpot. When you’re playing a Global Spins game and the wheel lands on 6 000 times the Buy-In, all the collected funds from each stake level will be added to the already enormously large prize pool. Essentially, there’s no limit on how big the prize pool could be!

Win Free Global Spins Tickets

WPT Global decided to celebrate the Global Spins in good fashion. If you play a minimum of three Global Spins in one day, you will have a chance to claim free Global Spins tickets – worth up to $1 000! – on a weekly basis. This campaign started December 10th, so the time to head over to WPT Global is now.

Can’t Forget About the Freeroll

Putting the cherry on top, WPT Global announced there will be a weekly Global Spins Freeroll. The freeroll tournament is played on Sundays and in order to secure your spot at the table, you must play 10 or more Global Spins during the week. For the sake of this promotion, a “Global Spins Week” is from Sunday 00:00 to Saturday 23:59 (UTC).

The Global Spins really should be considered as an early Christmas gift from WPT Global. Global Spins is not the only thing WPT Global has going on right now, seeing as the WPT World Championship will kick off today, December 12th. With a $40 000 000 GTD, this will be maybe the most exciting live poker tournament of the year.

Good luck to all player spinning their way to success in the Global Spins!
