PokerListings Awards 2023 – The Time Has Come!
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re approaching the end of 2023. Goodness gracious, what a year it has been for all poker lovers. We’ve been treated with amazing live poker events, thrilling online poker tournament series, flawless poker productions. We’ve seen great poker players cementing their legendary status, new stars have been born, and online poker sites have become even better in every aspect.
We’re spoiled, that’s for sure. Like we always do at PokerListings around this time of year, we’ve once again decided to reminisce about the year that bas been and identify the best poker entities of 2023. Buckle up, people: it is time for the PokerListings Awards 2023!
This year, we have no less than nine different categories and we, the PokerListings team, will together choose one winner for every category that has stood out during 2023. Let’s take a look at what categories we have this year!
Category 1: Best Poker Operator for Beginners
In Category 1, we will identify the best poker operator for new players who recently started exploring the fantastic game of poker. Features that a site should have in order to be appealing for poker beginners are good bonuses, relevant raking conditions, supply of tournaments/cash games and more. partypoker won this award last year thanks to them being very appealing to beginners through affordable online poker tournaments and an easy-to-use poker client.
Category 2: Best Poker Operator for Grinders
For poker grinders, it’s essential to play on a site that makes the sessions as profitable as possible. Rakeback, generous withdrawals limits, and features listed in Category 1 are essentials for this category. Much thanks to having the ability to adapt tables to different tournament types, 888poker snagged this trophy last year.
Category 3: Best Online Poker Tournament Series
One thing’s for certain: we’ve had a lot of good online poker tournament series this year. Series with high GTD’s, large player fields, appealing awards/trophies, optimized structures and more are crucial for a series to have a chance to win Category 3. GGPoker’s World Series of Poker Online earned this award in 2022.
Category 4: Best Live Poker Tournament Series
Live poker tournament series have been played all across the globe in 2023. The same requirements as for Category 3 applies, as well whether or not players could qualify through online satellites. This category is brand new in the PokerListings Awards!
Category 5: Best Software
The value of a good software should not be underestimated. A good GUI (graphical user interface), chat/emojis, an easy-navigated lobby and more are characteristics for a good software, and there are some serious contenders in category 5. Last year, PokerStars took home the category, much thanks to how customizable of a site it is.
Category 6: Best Poker Innovation
When it all comes down to it, poker is just a game played with a 52-card standard deck. Yet, people keep finding ways of developing new products circulating around poker and keeping the game interesting. There’s been a lot of good poker innovations during this year, and the one contributing to growth in the poker community has a good chance at winning category 6. GGPoker’s innovation “Ask Fedor” won last year. Through this AI-tool, players could submit a hand and get Fedor Holz’ opinion on it.
Category 7: Best Poker Operator, Overall
There can only be one: what poker operator really stood out this year, appealing to both beginners, recreationals and grinders? Winning this category would surely be a big sign of approval. Last year GGPoker won this award, considering how much they developed their site during 2022.
Category 8: Best Poker Streamer
Poker streamers are doing an amazing job creating a lot of entertainment around poker. A poker streamer that really can connects with his or hers audience and make the viewers feel the thrill when going deep in a tournament will have a good shot of taking home Category 8.
Category 9: Players Favorite
The last category is maybe the most exciting one: players favorite. This is where you players will vote on what poker operator has brought you the most joy during 2023. We will have a poll on our website where you can vote. The poll will start the 26th of December and it will be open until the 31st.
