”I Can’t Rip my Shirt” – Girafganger Wins the $5 000 WSOP Online Main Event for $2.7M

After the board ran out K 3 K 4 5 and Switzerland’s Yagen Li’s A Q couldn’t find any help, Bert “Girafganger” Stevens tried to rip his gray shirt in pieces without any success. Presumably the Belgian wasn’t too sad about his clothing being intact: he had just won the €5 000 WSOP Online Main Event for a whopping $2.7M – by claiming the first place finish in the largest online poker tournament ever!

Biggest Online Poker Tournament Prize Pool Ever

Stevens must have been thinking “today is the day” when he entered the 9-handed final table as the chip leader. He only lost this for a brief period of time when Dutch poker professional Erik Bakker overtook his place, but otherwise Stevens was the table captain which helped him steer the ship over the rainbow and to ultimately to victory.

Not only is Stevens a well-respected professional poker player on the online tables by his peers, he is also a personable Twitch streamer. In front of the eyes of thousands of people, he took home the title live on the well-established streaming platform and had many fans and followers to share his victory song with.

That Concludes WSOP 2023 Online

GGPoker WSOP Online Largest Online Tournament

With Stevens big win October 2nd, parallel with New Zealand poker player David Yan taking home the $10 300 GGMillion$ High Roller, the WSOP 2023 Online Bracelet Events comes to an end. A total 33 unique events have seen their bracelet winner over at GGPoker during the period August 20th-October 2nd. Well, that is actually a truth with some modification: event #17, $1 500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER in Paradise $5M GTD, is currently in waiting for its final phase. The remaining 100 players will be flown to the Bahamas this December to battle it out for the remaining WSOP 2023 Online bracelet during the WSOP Paradise. Such, event #17 was an online-live hybrid event; quite the interesting feature in the schedule!

Even though the Bracelet Events has (again, almost) come to an end since Stevens win, some side events in the WSOP Online 2023 series had as late as October 4th as their time in the GGPoker client. Overall it has, of course, been an successful online series with a lot interesting action to follow.

Huge congratulations to Stevens and all other bracelet winners!

Always handed to the elites on a plate. Saw every hand, a blindfolded baby could’ve won it
