WSOP 3-Bet: Ivey Who? Five Bees, $25k Fantasy Brick

Phil Ivey
Ivey passed up a classic chance to ask "Do you know who the f&!$k I am!?"

The PokerListings WSOP 3-Bet is an AC-chilled, three mile walk down the deserted halls of the late night poker news convention center.

Today in the 3-Bet we see a Phil Ivey fan putting his foot in his mouth, the summer's first critical dealer error plus a complete air-ball from Jason Mercier in the $25,000 WSOP Fantasy League.

If you have suggestions for a future 3-Bet, or just want to say hi, please leave a note in the comments below.

1) Fan Talks to Ivey about Ivey, Doesn't Know it's Ivey

We have to give a big tip of the hat to poker pro and international man of mystery Tony Dunst for relating this priceless Phil Ivey story via Twitter.

Dunst sums it up perfectly so read his tweets to find out how a poker fan managed to talk to Phil Ivey about Phil Ivey, all the while having no idea that he's Phil Ivey.

2) WSOP Dealers Still Working Out the Kinks

Play it like the nuts.

This year the WSOP assured us that their new dealers would be put through a mandatory training program, and that returning dealers would be encouraged to take a refresher course.

We can only imagine that this dealer missed the class.

One player in the $1,500 buy-in Millionaire Maker tournament was dealt the hand you see in this picture.

And while we commend the player for picking up one of the rarest and most sought-after hands in poker, we can only see this as a missed opportunity.

What he should have done is get as many chips in the middle of the table and triumphantly slam his hand on the table like it was the nuts.

That's what we would have done.

H/t to Tony Dunst once again for catching this.

3) Jason Mercier Bricking $25k WSOP Fantasy League

Jason Mercier has been crushing the live tournament circuit so far this year, as we learned when we spoke to him today about bouncing back from a tough 2012.

If only Mercier could be on his own fantasy team.

But despite having the skills to rack up more than $1.7 million in 2013 earnings, he's whiffing hard in the $25,000 buy-in WSOP Fantasy League.

Mercier's team, which includes Chris Bjorin, ElkY, Greg Mueller, George Lind, John Racener, John Hennigan, Marco Johnson and Bryce Yockey is tied for last place with Team Cary Katz.

Swede Chris Bjorin is the only Team Mercier member to have cashed.

Mercier is up against 13 other teams in the Fantasy League, with $350,000 to be split between the top four teams at the end of the summer.

And if you want to keep track of the progress someone has done us a big favor and created a website.
