Million dollar guaranteed tournament in Louisiana

The Prize Money

Online poker isn't the only place you can find large guaranteed prize pools. The Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana will have a guaranteed $1 million prize pool for the Seven Clans Poker Cup Series main event.

The SCPCS begins Dec. 3 with the first of six scheduled events in the series. The first SCPCS took place in 2005 and has been growing ever since, drawing big-name players such as Men "The Master" Nguyen, Susie Isaacs, Kido Pham and Nam Le.

The casino attributes the success of the tournament to the structure of the event as well as the casino's amenities.

"Coushatta offers its poker players an outstanding poker experience," said Randall Droddy, Coushatta director of table games. "We have fast action games and a variety of limits. Our dealers are friendly and professional, and the staff works really hard."

The $1 million guarantee for the main event is sure to attract even more players and increase the prestige of the game.

The tournament's events are:

  • Dec. 3 starting at noon, $225 No-Limit Hold'em
  • Dec. 4 starting at noon, $335 Team Event
  • Dec. 5 starting at noon, $335 No-Limit Hold'em
  • Dec. 6 starting at noon, $225 No-Limit Hold'em
  • Dec. 7 starting at noon, $550 No-Limit Hold'em
  • Dec. 8-10 starting at noon, $3,100 main event

For player interested in taking on all the events, there is a super-satellite scheduled for Dec. 2, starting at noon, with prize packages that will get you entry into them all except the team event.

For a $275 buy-in and $30 entry fee, players will be given $4,000 in staring chips to take a shot at a $5,500 prize package. That's the buy-in for the main event, plus the four preliminary events aside from the Team Event.

One prize package will be created for every $5,500 in prize pool money in the tournament.
