Monarch Beats Antonius in Four Hours

In the first hour, Ossi “Monarch” Ketola pulled off a big bluff. Antonius defended his BB with K J . The board ran out 2 4 9 J 9 . Ketola fired three barrels for $150K, $600K and $3M — Antonius folded on the river, while Ketola had 6 3 .

After that hand, Ketola took the lead and held it for almost the rest of the match.

In the third hour, Ketola 3-bet to $1.8M with K4s — Antonius folded 98s of the same suit, leaving himself with $6.1M behind.

Little by little, Antonius rebuilt his stack by winning small pots and even took the lead for a hand.

But it wasn’t his day. In the penultimate hand, Ketola made a straight flush and check-raised the flop and turn before instantly pushing the river.

In the final hand, Antonius got it in with AKs against KJs for an $8,150,000 pot. He couldn’t get there as the board ran out 5 9 Q J 7 .

Ketola and Antonius have known each other for a long time. The two were involved in launching the crypto casino Duel.com. Antonius was the one who invited Ketola to Triton a couple of years ago, as Ketola himself said on Reddit. Ketola has also said that he has never had a professional poker coach, although his regular friends sometimes give him advice.
