A few months ago, we wrote a relatively short piece about a proposed bill that could outlaw all real-money online gaming in India, poker included. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025, which was introduced by Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, doesn’t distinguish between games of skill and games of chance, meaning online poker is in a precarious legal position. So, why are we rehashing this story?
Apart from the bill passing both houses of Parliament, receiving presidential assent, and becoming law, we’re beginning to see the first real consequence now. In a letter sent to affiliates, WPT Global announced it will discontinue its services for Indian players starting 30 September.
Back in June, BetRivers Poker made a bold move. The US operator announced (and executed) a multi-state launch that brought real-money online poker to Delaware and West Virginia. At that point, West Virginia had been for a regulated operator waiting since 2019. Delaware was without active poker since late 2023.
So, when BetRivers Poker stepped in and linked these two states with Pennsylvania and Michigan under a shared liquidity agreement, it became one of only two US networks operating across multiple states. However, one (promised) piece of the puzzle is still missing and that’s New Jersey.
So, PokerListings has decided to see where BetRivers and The Garden State stand as of now.
He did it in a massive $55 field. Here are the highlights from the second week of WCOOP 2025.
Artur Martirosian began focusing on PLO at the start of the 2024/2025 Triton season with one goal in mind — winning the Player of the Year race. The plan worked out.
There’s moments in poker when the cards don’t matter. When you’re not sweating a river or second-guessing a shove. It’s the moment when you realize you’re actually going to Las Vegas, not to watch, but to play in one of the biggest tournaments on the planet. That moment might now cost you exactly $1.
WPT Global has opened another door to the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas with a satellite ladder that could take, well just about anyone to the podium in Sin City.

And yes, there’s still plenty of chances to qualify, so read on.

If your Google results have felt a bit… shuffled recently, don’t worry. It’s not all in your head. Google recently introduced a new setting called Preferred Sources that lets you tell Search which outlets you want to see more of in the Top stories news box.
It won’t block other publishers, but when your chosen outlet does cover something, Google will try to place it on top, sometimes in a dedicated From your sources section.
At this point, you’re probably wondering why a poker news site is telling you about changes in Google’s search algorithm. Fair point.
In this article, along with explaining this algorithm shift, we’re also going to show you how to make PokerListings your preferred news source for all things poker (and beyond).

About a month ago, poker forums lit up over something called AB 831, a California bill aimed at shutting down the dual-currency sweepstakes poker model that lets players redeem virtual coins for cash prizes. The original Reddit thread framed Senate Appropriations as the place to turn to and urged readers to email their lawmakers.
Earlier in the summer, the bill, authored by Assembly member Avelino Valencia, cleared the Senate Governmental Organization Committee 10–0, before moving to Senate Public Safety. Since then, the story developed pretty quickly. Both chambers advanced the bill without a single “no” vote, and AB 831 is now with Governor Gavin Newsom for a decision.
So, in this article, we’ll see where we go from here.

From the way PokerStars describes it, it’s all pretty straightforward: there are set windows, a clear entry mechanic, and scheduled raffles.
In this article, we’ll give you the need-to-know on this new partnership.
