When Is BetRivers Going Live in New Jersey?

Let’s be clear here. There’s no official date yet. However, BetRivers hasn’t tried to hide its plans.

When Rush Street Interactive first announced its four-state expansion this June, it clearly named New Jersey as the next pin on their US poker roadmap.

The target? Going live before the end of 2025.

At the time of writing this, The New Jersey launch hasn’t happened yet. However, recent industry reporting, including that from PokerFuse, suggests the debut could be close. Their sources say that the New Jersey rollout is “close,” although we don’t have a specific timeline confirmed by the operator or any of the state regulators.

If BetRivers does meet its goal of launching in New Jersey this year, it will become the first regulated poker operator in the US to operate in five states simultaneously, edging ahead of WSOP, which currently connects players across four (NJ, MI, NV, and PA).

Why Does New Jersey Matter So Much?

Time for a little bit of US poker history. New Jersey is one of the oldest and most competitive regulated online poker markets in the United States.

Giants like PokerStars, BetMGM, and WSOP have all operated there for years, making the The Garden State a well established market in terms of player volume, licensing infrastructure, and tournament schedules. Basically everything you could wish for for poker.

As you can see, expanding into New Jersey isn0t just adding another pin to the poker map. Tapping into this market means gaining access to a high-traffic environment that already participates in the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA).

Once BetRivers Poker live, it could pool players across all five of its licensed states, making it the largest shared-liquidity network in the country by reach.

For BetRivers, that kind of access means:

• Larger tournaments
• More consistent cash game traffic
• Even more promotional campaigns

What’s Still Unknown

Despite everything we just told you, a few pieces of the puzzle are still missing. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement hasn’t confirmed a license approval, and there hasn’t been a formal press release from Rush Street Interactive this either.

So, it’s still also unclear whether the NJ debut will coincide with an expansion of the Championship Series or if the operator will stage a separate campaign to mark the entry. Given the marketing push BetRivers has made in other states, some form of launch promo isn’t out of the question.

Until then, the site remains active in four states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware, and West Virginia. In Delaware and West Virginia, BetRivers is currently the only regulated online poker option.
