Punnat Punsri Keeps His Hot Streak Going With a $50K NLH 7-Handed Win ($1,697,000)

After a brilliant run at EPT Barcelona and a seven-figure score in the $8K Triton One Main Event, Punnat Punsri has notched yet another victory. Here are the highlights from the latest Triton Jeju II Super High Roller Series events.

Punnat Punsri Captures His Fifth Triton Title

We wrote about Punsri’s successes in a previous article, and it’s clear that Thailand’s top tournament player had no plans to slow down. On Sunday night he claimed another trophy.

The $50K NLH 7-Handed event drew 146 entries. Punsri began the final table second in chips. First, he knocked out Samuel Mullur: in one hand Mullur tried to bluff into Punsri’s trips, then lost an all-in with KJo versus pocket fives.

Three-handed, Punsri collected all of Igor Yaroshevskyy’s chips. Yaroshevskyy busted when his AQo couldn’t hold against Punsri’s T9s — once again the Thai star made trips.

Heads-up started with Punsri holding 62 bb to Bradon Wilson’s 11 bb. They played for about 15 minutes; you can watch the final hand on Twitter:

High-Stakes Cash Regular Peter Wang Wins $2,046,000 in $60K NLH 8-Handed

Peter Wang first came to wider attention after a $1,412,500 pot on High Stakes Poker:

This time Wang shone on the tournament stage.

The $60K NLH 8-Handed event attracted 154 entries. Wang reached the final table second in chips. Three-handed, the momentum was entirely his: he eliminated Anatoly Filatov in just two hands: TT > AQo (46.5 bb pot) and 22 > KTs (21 bb pot).

Heads-up began with Wang holding 60 bb versus Sosia Jiang’s 18 bb. It turned into one of the longest heads-ups in Triton history, lasting about two hours. In the deciding hand Wang trapped with top pair and it worked perfectly. With an effective stack of 10 bb in a limped pot, the board ran 6 K 7 (check–check), turn 6 (Sosia bet 1.5 bb, call), river 10 (Sosia shoved 8.5 bb into a 6 bb pot and got called). Peter showed K 9 ; Sosia tabled J 8 .

Ossi «The Monarch» Ketola Keeps Offering Million-Dollar Heads-Up Action

The Monarch is back, this time choosing some of poker’s brightest stars as opponents.

In the first pair of matches — buy-ins of $2M and $4M — Ketola faced Wiktor “Limitless” Malinowski. He lost both, and while Limitless offered a rematch, Ketola moved on to Alex Foxen.

On Sunday night into Monday morning, Ketola and Foxen played two heads-ups: the first for $2M, the second for $5M. Ketola won the first and lost the second.

Right now Ketola and Foxen are battling in a $6M heads-up match, streamed live on Twitch and YouTube.
