There aren’t a lot of players on high stakes who are willing to answer any question from anyone as detailed as they could. But Sam Greenwood is one of these unicorns who on September 10th, 2025 decided to start an AMA on poker Reddit and kept answering until the stream of questions dried up.
PokerListings read all Q&A on that thread and selected the most fascinating of them for this article.
Fun-fact: all participants except one seemingly ignored the fact that Sam has a twin brother Lucas, who also plays poker, and older brother Max, who initially started playing poker during the Moneymaker Boom.
However, one person asked Sam: “How has having a twin helped or hurt your poker career (and/or general life)?” — and got from him an interesting perspective:
Sam Greenwood
Making it poker is very hard and it helps to have friends and family who can support you when times are tough. Having a twin maybe made me less outgoing because I always had a friend at home, but of course the positives massively outweight the negatives.
Starting from this note, we offer you to dive deep into Sam’s mind and experience in the convenient format of thematically divided interview.
The summer poker season has been anything but dull this year. However, it’s on its last legs this week and it’s time we shift gears and look to fall, starting with 888poker. The poker room is beginning the colder season with the return of its largest online series of the year: the XL Autumn Series 2025.
The series runs from September 21 through September 30 and features over $1.5 million in total guarantees across 55 scheduled tournaments, including a rake-free $500K GTD Mystery Bounty Main Event.
If you’ve played at 888poker, you know the XL Autumn Series is an anchor in its online schedule and this edition is no different. The tournament is leaning into multi-flight formats, mystery bounties, and accessible buy-ins, most of which sit below the $109 mark.
So, let’s see what the XL Autumn Series has in store for the 2025 season.

When the $25 Golden Bounty Championship guarantee increased to $250,000, players apparently decided: “Today is the day” — and rushed to get in on the action in a bid to set a new WPT Global record.
The World Poker Tour seems to be on a mission this month. Just a few days ago, they announced their newest poker brand, aptly named the WPT Wildcard and built specifically for their content creators and social media audiences.
Set to debut at the upcoming WPT Prime Lodge festival in Austin, Texas and the WPT Wildcard idea is simple enough: let’s shift the focus away from the traditional poker structures and focus on entertainment-driven formats, something that would encourage live interaction and short-form content.
So, let’s break it down piece by piece.
🚨 WPT Wildcard makes it's debut at WPT Prime Lodge💥🃏

The World Poker Tour is ready to make its mark on the Lone Star State. The series is headlined by a $1,100 Championship Event with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, a first for the WPT in Texas.
While WPT events have spanned dozens of countries over the past two decades, the WPT Prime Lodge Championship marks the first time the tour has made it to Texas, a US state that has historically presented legal barriers to major poker operators.
Three days of the World Championship of Online Poker delivered a ton of action. Here are just a few of the biggest highlights.
Triton Poker has announced Austrian poker pro Mario Mosböck as its newest official ambassador. The poker room shared the news on their official X account, with a short walk down memory lane from professional footballer to regular in the high-stakes tournament scene.
In a short video accompanying the announcement, Mosböck goes through a typical day until an invitation to join the Triton family. Triton Poker wraps it all up with a simple but clear message: “Welcome, Mario.”
GGPoker started the fall of 2025 by banning some of its more severe rulebreakers and issuing refunds to players who suffered in tournaments because of them. Among alleged victims were Aaron “abarone68” Barone who shared a screenshot of GGPoker message to him with details including an amount of credited money from confiscated funds — $6.18:
A lot of players joined him in sharing their own refunds, with the highest reported amount of $162.23. Others criticized GGPoker and this entire compensation system.
Aaron — who rarely holds his opinion when it comes to doubtful actions of poker rooms and brands — choose peace instead of war this time and stood up for GGPoker and refunds in general stating:
Aaron “abarone68” Barone
Just to clarify, this is a GOOD thing. People acting like this is some sort of ‘smoking gun’ for why you shouldn’t play online, when in reality it’s the opposite. It’s GOOD that sites are catching cheaters It’s GOOD that they’re able to issue refunds It’s GOOD that we’re notified
Different opinions and reactions motivated us to look deeper into the question: Why are some poker players always displeased when poker rooms catch cheaters, confiscate their money and issue refunds to victims?
Searching through comments, Reddit threads and poker forums, we found our answer- We’ll share it and discuss it with you in the form of three of the most frequently mentioned reasons.
The final table of the first-ever $8K Triton One Main Event turned out to be very dynamic. Why did Artur Martirosyan decide to make a 6-bet shove with A3s, and what do you need to eat to lock up seven-figure scores? We cover it in this article.

Together with StatName, we continue to cover the results of the best cash game players across different stakes and rooms over the past month. We try to highlight interesting patterns and standout performances at every limit, from NL10 all the way up to the overall rankings.
But first, as always, a few important notes:
StatName tracks net profit at cash tables. Rakeback, leaderboard rewards, and promotional bonuses are not included in the statistics. StatName only tracks results at regular cash tables (fast-fold tables are excluded). StatName data may differ slightly from your HUD due to import inaccuracies, but the sample sizes remain representative and give a reliable picture of player performance.
WPT Global wanted to stand out, this time when with its PKOs. So, it raised the stakes with its Weekly Golden Bounty. Players sit down for just $25 for a shot at a guaranteed $250,000 prize pool. This kind of value that usually requires a hefty buy-in, but here it’s turned into a weekly event that attracts thousands of entries.
The event is set up like this: multiple Day 1 flights throughout the week, each one packed with bounties right from the first hand. Knock a player out, and you’ll pocket at least $5.68. Make it through to the end of the flight (when either 11% of the field remains or Level 20 is reached) and you’ll carry your stack forward to Day 2 on Sunday.
John Arne Riise needs no introduction for football fans. A Liverpool legend, Riise is remembered for his thunderous free-kick against Manchester United in 2001 and, of course, for lifting the Champions League trophy with the Reds in 2005 after the famous comeback against AC Milan in Istanbul.
But today, Riise finds himself in a different arena: the poker tables. As an ambassador for the SiGMA Poker Tour, held here in Malta at the Portomaso Casino, Riise is diving headfirst into the poker world with the same passion and competitive fire he once showed on the pitch.
I, Melvin Schroen, representing PokerListings, had the honour of sitting down with Riise to talk about his journey from football to poker, his love for Malta, and the challenges of excelling in a game where patience is everything. And, on behalf of JP McCann of the Irish Poker Open, I also squeezed in a very special question.
Sebastian Huber is undoubtedly one of the best up and coming streamers and poker players in the industry. His enthusiasm for life and poker is a joy to behold. Having followed his career for a number of years, I thought it would be an excellent time to catch up with the Austrian Native Pro who is genuinely one of the nicest guys out there in poker. His challenges are what defines him, his exuberance to take on any situation really shows his mental state. He also loves to take part in Iron mans which showcases his physical attributes very well.
With that being said, its time to get to know Seb on a lighter note, because in reality, that is how he would have wanted this to go. Lets jump right into it!
Drea Karlsen is a well-respected face in the Norwegian poker community. A streamer, single mother, and pure fan of the game, she recently took down the WSOP Circuit Tallinn Ladies Event, earning herself not just a WSOP ring but also a $5,000 package to the Bahamas. Now, as an ambassador for the SiGMA Poker Tour, Drea is living her dream, inspiring women, and bringing her trademark positivity to the felt.
PokerListings caught up with her during the latest stop of the SiGMA Poker Tour. What followed was a conversation about busting bullets, being a single mom, why ladies’ events matter, and how poker can help with mental health.
The SiGMA Poker Tour in Malta 🇲🇹 has barely even started — and @DreaUtvik is already smashing her personal records. ♠️🔥
Four tournaments have concluded, with three of them won by players from Asian countries.
Where last week was all about EPT Barcelona, this week we’ve shifted gears to the grand SiGMA Poker Tour in Malta! Things kicked off with the SiGMA World event, and experiencing that for the very first time was nothing short of a delight. But now… It’s time for POKER. A lot of POKER.
The SiGMA Poker Tour is the new kid on the block, and this stop in St. Julian’s, Malta, marks just the second-ever edition of the tour. After its debut in São Paulo, Brazil, earlier this year, the spotlight is now on the €400 Main Event at Portomaso Casino, Malta. Alongside it, players can jump into The Hendon Mob Championship and a packed schedule of side events – but make no mistake, the Main is where all eyes are fixed.
Day 1A of the €400 SPT Main Event €150K GTD attracted 94 entries. Leading the way is a player who recently made the top-4 of the EPT Barcelona Main Event.
