Christoph Vogelsang Wins $100K Triton Super High Roller Jeju II Main Event (*$4,099,975)

The victory delivered the third-largest career cash for Christoph Vogelsang. Here are the highlights of this and another closing NLHE event.

Ponakov’s Bluff Fails — Vogelsang Becomes Massive Chip Leader

Christoph Vogelsang started both the final day and the final table as chip leader. One of the key pots came 5-handed against Aleks Ponakovs. Effective stacks: 32 BB.

After this hand Vogelsang’s stack jumped to 62 BB, while three opponents each held around 52 BB.

Vogelsang eventually faced Samuel Mullur heads-up. They agreed to a deal, leaving $150K plus the trophy and a Jacob & Co. watch to play for. The finish came quickly — within just three hands Vogelsang scooped every chip.

This win is Vogelsang’s third-biggest career cash, trailing only his 3rd place in the $1M WSOP Big One for One Drop 2014 ($4.48M) and his victory in the $300K Super High Roller Bowl 2017 ($6M).

For comparison, at the previous Triton Montenegro series Heath played eight events without a single ITM.

Mike Watson Captures His 5th Triton Title

Watson won the $125K NLH 7-Handed event for $2,130,812. In heads-up he chopped with Stephen Chidwick ($1,927,188). The final hand is well worth a look:

Watson busted early in this tournament but fired a late re-entry. The victory gave him the biggest cash of his career.
