WSOP-C Malta: WSOP Announces First Ever Mediterranean Stop in September

WSOP-C Malta: WSOP Announces First Ever Mediterranean Stop in September

Malta is the European island of poker. The Battle of Malta, the Festival Series, and even the EPT all work their schedules (at least in part) around this tinny Mediterranean island. However, until 2026, one name has curiously never set foot on Maltese shores – the WSOP-C. That is, until now.

Over the weekend, the World Series of Poker announced that it will be docking in Malta from September 25 through October 12 for its first ever WSOP-C Malta stop. This is huge news for the island as much as for the European leg of the circuit, so we’re here to tell you all about it.

What There Is to Know About WSOP-C Malta (So Far)

Since the Maltese stop has just been announced, we don’t have all the details yet. What we do know is that there will be a total of 12 international circuit rings up for grabs from September 25 through October 12 at Casino Malta in St. Julian’s. Along with these, players will also be competing for $5,000 packages to WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas, which is taking place later on in the year.

As Gregory Chochon, WSOP’s Chief Operating Officer put it himself:

Gregory Chochon

As the first-ever WSOP Circuit stop in Malta, this partnership is a major milestone for live poker in the region. Our goal is simple: to deliver a world-class event and set a new standard on the European poker calendar.

Chochon statement is very much in line with the changes the WSOP has announced for its 2026 circuit. Right now, another first-ever circuit event is running just north of the island in Liechtenstein at Grand Casino Gamprin until March 10.

How to Qualify for Malta

While September is still months away, we’d assume qualifiers for WSOP-C Malta will be running on GGPoker in due time. Apart from them, qualification paths could also be up and running on Texapoker, a French live events company that is partnering with WSOP for this 2026 Mediterranean stop.

While we wait for more news from the European island of poker, we suggest checking out the 2026 WSOP Circuit schedule for more ideas of where you can grab that coveted WSOP-C ring.
