Irish Poker Open back live in Dublin in April 2022
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Irish Poker Open returns live in April for the Easter weekend in grand style.
From April 11th until 18th, a total of 42 poker tournaments will be played in one week at the Citywest Hotel on the outskirts of Dublin. This marks the return of one of the longest running poker tournament series this year.
Highlights of the Irish Poker Open 2022
With 42 events, the Irish Poker Open offer a rich variety of tournaments. Buy-ins range from €150 to €5,000 for the Highroller tournament. The Main Event with a €1,150 buy-in has four starting days from Wednesday to Friday. The final will be played on Easter Monday.
These are the highlights of the series:
- €350 8-Game Mix (Monday, 11.4.)
- €350 Heads-Up (Tuesday, 12.4.)
- €5,000 Highroller (Tuesday, 12.4.)
- €1,150 Main Event (from Wednesday, 13.4.)
- €250 Short Deck (Thursday, 14.4.)
- €2,000 Highroller (from Saturday, 16.4.)
- €1,100 Mystery Bounty (from Sunday, 17.4.)
About the Irish Poker Open
The Irish Poker Open is the longest running no-limit Texas Hold'em poker tournament in Europe and the second longest running in the world after the World Series of Poker.
First organised in 1980 by Terry Rogers (an Irish bookmaker), the tournament has been a fixture on the international poker calendar for over 30 years. It is traditionally held every year over the Easter weekend.
In 2020 and 2021, the event was not held due to the global Corona pandemic. The tournament was unceremoniously moved online to the partypoker website for these two years - a resounding success with huge numbers of participants.
Fortunately, the tournament series will most likely be back live in 2022. The non-stop action will return to the Citywest Hotel near Dublin for one week.
