All in all, the poker action is heating up all over the world, so be sure to get out and hone your game to get ready for an insane December of poker coming your way!!

Since mid-October we’ve been actively monitoring the cash-game traffic of the leading online poker rooms to better understand how the market is distributed and how players behave over time.

This report is based on data collected between October 13 and October 27.

Data Methodology

We tracked real-time traffic from 12 popular poker rooms and collected a total of 162,021 entries with minute-by-minute updates.

Only real-money cash game seats were counted. Formats like Zoom/SNAP/Fast Forward, tournaments, Spin&Go-type games or play-money traffic were completely excluded.

Logged-in but inactive users also do not appear in the dataset. This means that the numbers you see refer only to seated cash-game players. We didn’t count unique players, so multi-tabling users increase the raw totals.

Market Distribution

According to our sample, GGPoker holds the leading position in October with an average ~36% market share among major rooms. PokerStars follows with ~25%, and WPT Global completes the Top-3 with around 15%. Together, these three ecosystems control roughly 76% of the observable cash-game market.

CoinPoker continues to grow and now captures around 9% of active real-money seats, strengthening its position ahead of ACR and 888poker.

This is what the market looks like dynamically over the two-week period:

As you can see, GGPoker is not an uncontested leader at every moment — there are several points where PokerStars briefly overtakes GGPoker during peak activity windows.

Peak Activity

With hourly-level data available, we identified the core peak window for all rooms and compared it with the traffic patterns of operators that are more popular in different geographic regions.

This is what the weekly heatmap looks like for the top market leaders:

Online Poker Market Distribution All Rooms: Cash Activity Heatmap
All Rooms: Cash Activity Heatmap

All rooms here are shown in UTC, and the industry-wide peak clearly aligns with Western European evening hours. The day-of-week distribution also matters: Friday evening is the single strongest moment to play online cash games.

To understand whether region-specific traffic behaves differently, we compared this pattern with an operator that is predominantly US-based: ClubWPT Gold.

ClubWPT Gold : Cash Activity Heatmap
ClubWPT Gold: Cash Activity Heatmap

The US-profiled room shows a slightly longer tail after the peak, but overall the activity curve still closely aligns with the global pattern.

Our Findings

  1. Europe is the primary driver of cash-game market share.
  2. Smaller poker rooms have almost no influence on the overall picture — the market is highly concentrated.
  3. CoinPoker is growing, while 888poker continues to fall behind the leaders.
  4. PokerStars loses ground to GGPoker during evening and weekend peaks, but remains comparatively stable during weekdays. GGPoker captures the market during prime-time.
  5. ACR was expected to behave like a US-centric room, but in reality its peak pattern is closer to the European rooms. Meanwhile, ClubWPT clearly shows a US profile with a longer post-peak tail.
  6. Once night arrives in Europe, the entire market drops sharply — overseas traffic does not offset the decline.
  7. The US market impact is smaller than often assumed.

Which poker rooms and what times see the most cash-game action — PokerListings has collected and analyzed data from 10 poker sites.

How We Collected and Analyzed Cash Game Traffic Data

We used the traffic scanner, which is available for free on the PokerListings homepage. The information is updated in real time. You can see when, at which stakes, and in which games the action is happening right now by visiting the homepage and scrolling down.

Online Poker Rooms Traffic in October 2025

We collected data on the total number of players at cash tables across 10 poker rooms, without breaking it down by stakes, over a two-week period from October 13 to 27. This resulted in a dataset of 162,000 entries. We compiled all the data into a single file and created a graph showing player activity across the rooms. Based on this data, we’re ready to share several key insights.

Poker Room Cash Game Traffic Analysis: GGPoker and PokerStars Lead the Pack
Important note: The analysis reflects the number of occupied seats at the table, not unique players.
  • Traffic peaks occur daily during the evening hours, from 20:00 to 23:00 GMT — poker is clearly a game for night owls.
  • The lowest player activity is observed early in the morning, around 05:00–08:00 GMT, when all rooms experience their daily low point.
  • GGPoker leads by player count, showing a consistent daily cycle that repeats from day to day. Its peak reaches around 5,000–6,000 concurrent players, with the busiest time between 20:00 and 23:00 GMT.
  • PokerStars consistently ranks second, attracting between 3,000 and 4,000 players.
  • In third place are WPTGlobal and Stake, with an average of about 1,000–2,000 players.
  • Rounding out the list are 888Poker, ACR, CoinPoker, 1Win, PokerPlanets, and RedStar, where an average of around 500 players are active.

A few cash game grinders on CoinPoker are now out of action, permanently. Just a few days ago on October 29, the poker platform confirmed via X that it had banned a number of accounts for using seat scripting software.

The announcement came as a short post via the CoinPoker official X account, where they noted that several users had been removed after a detailed investigation.

We’ll try to tell you everything we know about this situation so far.

Why Seat Scripting Got the Axe

Seat scripting isn’t new, but it’s rarely tackled this directly. In simple terms, it’s a type of automated seat selection software that scans lobby activity and swoops in to grab seats next to players flagged as likely to be soft. The software doesn’t play hands for you but it does help predatory players cherry-pick tables where they think they’ll have the biggest edge.

And while that might not violate the rules of poker itself, it’s well outside the bounds of fair play as far as most sites are concerned. CoinPoker called it out plainly, saying it “goes against the spirit of the game” and contributes to an “unhealthy environment for players.”

CoinPoker made it clear that the accounts in question were permanently closed, and the team plans to keep monitoring for further violations.

Reaction from the poker community weren’t far behind. CoinPoker ambassador Patrick Leonard reposted the announcement with a blunt send-off:

CoinPoker hasn’t said how many accounts were impacted yet, but the message is pretty clear: using third-party tools to get around the spirit of the game won’t be tolerated.

GGPoker is bringing back a fan-favorite tournament tomorrow. Yes, we’re talking about the the Flip & Go Millionaire. The event runs from November 1 to 11 and features a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool for a modest $11 buy-in. It’s a format that’s fast, accessible, and a little bit unorthodox but that’s the point.

Hourly flights begin Thursday, and the final phase, where real poker kicks in, takes place on November 11 at 19:00 UTC.

How Flip & Go Millionaire Works

Flip & Go Millionaire follows the same two-phase structure GGPoker has used with its past editions.

The Flip Stage is up first. It’s going to run hourly for the entire tournament, November 1 through November 11. Just like past editions, each flight starts with three hole cards for each player; you discard one, after which everyone goes all-in. If you end up winning your table, you qualify for the Go Stage. If not, re-entry’s always possible.

There’s a little nuance to it too: players who survive multiple flips get extra lives sure but their stacks are also combined into one for the Go Stage.

The Go Stage is scheduled for November 11 at 19:00 UTC and plays as a standard No-Limit Hold’em tournament. Everyone who makes it this far is already in the money, and from there, it’s a more traditional MTT, albeit with stacks and dynamics that reflect how many flips you survived.

Buy-ins start at $11, but there are $0.11 satellites running as well, making it fairly open to any bankroll. As GGPoker’s Paul Burke put it:

Paul Burke

The format lets players build a big stack and take aim at huge cash prizes faster than almost anywhere else at GGPoker — there’s no time wasted.

And in case you want to go a little more in-depth with regards to the actual format, check out our Flip & Go Guide.

The dust has settled and new champions have emerged under the lights of the impromptu card room at the Deansgate Hotel in Manchester as the PokerStars Open Manchester event has reached it’s conclusion. The event saw a strong turnout across a range of events and buy-ins. Here is a look at the £220 Deepstack, the £2,200 High Roller, and the events marquee tournament, the £1,100 Main Event. Let’s take a look at what happened and who was crowned victorious.

A field of 161 total entries came together for the event’s opening non-satellite tournament at the Deansgate Hotel at the beginning of last week.

Of the 161 entries, 137 were unique, and these entries added up to make a solid total prize pool of £35,420. In fact, the tournament was so popular, during heads-up play, the clock was paused and the remaining contenders resumed their duel the following day. The duo in question were Kasim Mahmood and 2023 Irish Open Champion David Docherty. Play resumed with Docherty holding a 3:1 advantage over his opponent, and the impromptu Day 2 lasted just a few hands, despite Mahmood doubling early. Docherty had all the chips in play when the tournament wrapped up, plus £7,232 for his efforts and the first trophy to be awarded in a PokerStars Manchester tournament since 2011.

The result also propelled Docherty up the PokerStars Live League, where he currently is competing in the Low buy-in bracket, which are all PokerStars live event tournaments under £/$/€ 999. Below are the top 5 in the low buy-in bracket, where Docherty sits in second place, but is in touching distance of pole position.

The two day High-Roller event attracted a field of 106 total entrants, 71 of which were unique and 35 were re-entries. This resulted in the expected prize pool of £203,520 became one of £233,200.

Only 15 of the field found the money, with PokerStars ambassadors Adam McKola (15th – £3,440) and 2025 WSOP Main Event Las Vegas fourth-place finisher Kenny Hallaert (12th – £4,140) both cashing. Tuan Le was the unfortunate victim of the bubble, as he ran into the aces of Rui Bouquet. Le had ace-six suited, and he couldn’t find any hearts to double up. Le’s luck soon turned for the better, however, as you will soon see.

The final table saw an average stack of around 50 big blinds, with no runaway chip leader – at first. Ian Simpson and Joan Hereu began to break away from their competitors, together holding over half the chips in play six-handed when one huge pot saw Simpson double through for a monster chip lead. Simpson went for max value on the river of K 8 10 4 3 , moving all in against Hereu, who called with K J .

Simpson had aces, and this spelt the beginning of the end for the remaining players. Ultimately, Simpson went on to steamroll his opposition, and eventually bested Nicholas Swann for the title and a score of £53,140. Simpson then added a cash in the Main Event to his tally for the week, finishing 78th for £2,540. This win is Simpson’s third of the year, having won the €888 888 Main Event in Madrid for € 62,000 in January, and the £560 888 Main Event in Newcastle for £ 34,800. Below are the final table payouts.

The marquee event of the week had a whopping guaranteed prize pool of £1,000,000. The prize pool was clearly alluring, as a total of 927 entrants took to the felts over the four starting flights. Action continued for a further three days of action, culminating in the 2,200 High Roller bubble boy Tuan Le triumphing over £220 Deepstack fourth place finisher Christopher Brammer.

Between Brammer and Le, when final table play commenced the pair started the day with two thirds of the chips in play evenly split between them. The duo had agreed a deal after a level of heads-up play, with the stacks essentially even.  Brammer proposed an equal split, leaving £15,000 and the trophy, to which Le had no objection to.

Key pots thereafter went Le’s way at first, before Brammer doubled back into the chip lead. It was not to last long, however; despite a fierce battle for the title, Brammer eventually found himself short stacked after a late-stage flip and the final pot, the trophy and £149,200 top prize went to Le.

This is Le’s second PokerStars title, having won the UKIPT Blackpool £1,100 Main Event for £53,630 in 2023. Le is a keen recreational player, a business owner in the mental health sector, and a Manchester local. Le said before taking to the final table:

Tuan Le

I just play for fun, the only game I can play is Texas Hold’em, I actually don’t know the other games.

Le appeared to be upfront and honest about his game as the tournament came to a close, saying:  “It was tough playing against a pro. I’ve got four kids, so I’ve got no time. I’m not technically good, I can’t think numbers. These guys talk about how many big blinds have you got – I’ve got no idea!”

The World Series of Poker thought having an end-of-the-year poker festival in the Bahamas just wasn’t enough. So, they decided to up the ante. Last week, WSOP and GGPoker relaunched the Paradise Parlay for 2025, with up to $250,000 in bonus money to players who make a deep run in the $60M-guaranteed Super Main Event at Atlantis Paradise Island.

Paradise Parlay is going to be running as part of the WSOP Paradise festival from December 4 to 18, and rewarding eligible players who don’t just show up, but actually manage to cash, final table, or outright win the marquee $25,000 event.

You’ll find everything you need to know (and we know so far) about the Paradise Parlay.

What is the Paradise Parlay?

At this point, your first question would probably be what the Paradise Parlay actually entails, right?

The Paradise Parlay (or Super Main Event Parlay as it’s also know) is a bonus incentive added onto the $60 million guaranteed prize pool of the Super Main Event. In very basic terms, it’s a fixed cash payout that sits on top of whatever players earn through the tournament itself.

So, let’s say an eligible player cashes in the event, they’ll receive $25,000. Make the final table? That bumps up to $100,000. And if they end up winning the whole thing? That’s a $250,000 bonus added to the regular champion’s payout.

Just keep in mind that there’s no stacking allowed, Paradise Parlay isn’t cumulative, so players take home the highest tier they reach.

Who Qualifies for the Parlay?

While you may think this is a promotion reserved for a very few, that’s not actually the case. More than 2,000 players are on the radar for the Parlay, thanks to a relatively broad eligibility framework. To qualify, players must achieve at least one of the following during the 2025 WSOP calendar year:

  • Cashed in seven or more live WSOP bracelet events during the summer series in Las Vegas
  • Cashed in the 2025 WSOP Main Event (held July 2–16)
  • Won a WSOP bracelet in 2025, including online and WSOP Europe titles

If you tick one of those boxes and cash in Paradise, the Parlay’s going to kick in automatically.

A Few More Super Main Event Incentives

While we’re here to talk about the Paradise Parlay, it’s still just one of several promotions designed to make WSOP Paradise a can’t-miss winter poker destination. So, we’re going to talk about a few more.

For one, first-timers who register $50,000 or more in buy-ins, including the Super Main Event, will get a $5,000 bonus courtesy of Luxon Pay. Meanwhile, PokerStake has committed to buying up to 50% of unsold action from WSOP Circuit ring winners who list their Super Main Event packages for sale through the platform.

And for those tracking high roller leaderboards, the Super Main Event and five other bracelet events will count toward PokerGO Tour (PGT) points, meaning players get a shot at qualifying for the end-of-season $1 million PGT Championship freeroll.

Football Champions is a new promotion for players who enjoy playing poker in iPoker rooms and watching football equally. It will run from October 21st to January 28th, 2025 — and this article will give you all the key details.

How Football Champions Works

The mechanics of the new predictor promotion are simple: you should Opt-in in the Missions tab, predict the result of current football matches, complete one of the missions and win a reward.

There are 9 matches per each of 11 days of the UEFA Champions League, so you can make up to 9 predictions to get:

  • From 1 to 8 correct predictions — free blinds.
  • 9 correct predictions — random spot-on reward.

There are two daily revenue missions tied to this promotion:

  • Low — accumulate 100 points (€10 in rake) at any games.
  • High — accumulate 400 points (€40 in rake) at any games.

If you make 5 correct predictions per day, it will count as a completion of the Matchday Master mission with an additional prize of the €1.50 KNOCKOUT MASTERS STEP 1 ticket.

Prediction Rewards in Free Blinds

If you manage to predict the result of at least one match correctly, you will be rewarded with free blinds for cash games. More correct predictions — more prizes depending on the revenue mission you’ve completed:

A story seemingly out of a Hollywood film has emerged from the US, as National Basketball Association (NBA) coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat player Terry Rozier, and retired NBA player Damon Jones have been arrested amongst dozens of people, including members of some of the five major crime families operating out of New York. Billups, a Hall of Fame player turned coach, is one of 31 people charged in a separate illegal rigged poker game case involving retired players and the mafia, which involved the use of specialized equipment to ensure the game was rigged in their favour. Rozier was arrested in a separate case in relation to sports betting irregularities, where he is accused of faking injuries, which in this case would be spot fixing, a serious offense in the sporting world.

The Story so Far

Yesterday 31 defendants were tried under a seven-count indictment in criminal schemes to rig illegal poker games in New York, The Hamptons, Las Vegas, Miami, and more, using the famous faces of NBA players to lure unsuspecting players into a game they simply cannot win at. How you ask? Through a series of intricate devices, including an X-ray poker table, a rigged card-shuffling machine, secret cameras and special sunglasses, that ensured they knew what their opponent was holding. It seems ironic that this case emerges just shy of two weeks after the video featured below was released, which shows how a card shuffler can be hacked. This, however, did not serve as inspiration for the mafioso behind the game, as prosecutors have stated that the scheme dates back to early 2019.

Everyone at the table, including the dealer, was in on the scam, other than the unsuspecting “fish” who is looking forward to play in a fun cash game with members of the NBA, and probably some mobsters. The conspiracy is said to have cost victims out of $7,000,000, with one unlucky customer losing as much as $1,800,000 alone. The games were run by members and associates of the Bonanno, Genovese and Gambino crime families in New York, who have had control over New York’s Italian American mob scene since the 1930’s, along with the Colombo and Lucchese families. These families are a part of the infamous La Cosa Nostra which emerged from Sicily.

How It Worked

According to the Department of Justice, the modified shuffling machines were altered so they could read all the cards in the deck, determine which player would have the winning hand, and transmit that information off-site. the card information was passed to an “off-site member of the conspiracy,” then relayed via phone to a “Quarterback/Driver” at the table, who signalled to co-conspirator players, whether to bet, raise or fold.

Rigged poker table
Photo Credit: Department of Justice, BBC

Pictured above is the x-ray table that was used. As always, the game is a lot easier when you can see the cards, and the players not in on the scam had absolutely zero chance to win. There were analysers inside the chip trays too, that could also read cards. With the sunglasses, they worked as the cards were marked before the game using infra-red barcodes and special inks that could only be seen by a certain type of lens. Secretive cameras were planted around the room in light fixtures and tables, giving them even more information. Below is a statement on the case from am attorney involved in the case.

Sports Betting Scandal

Rozier, and retired NBA player Damon Jones were arrested in relation to betting irregularities. The former is alleged to have told his friend that he will pull himself from the game early through faking an injury, so that he should wager that Rozier will not make the overs line. He told others to bet “more than $200,000” on that outcome, which resulted in big wins for those involved, as he only put up five points before coming off. For Jones, its a double whammy, as he is involved in the rigged poker game, and leaking non-public news regarding the injury of “Player 3”, who has reported to be basketball all-time-great LeBron James. It is alleged Jones text someone to on February 2023 to: “Get a big bet on Milwaukee tonight” as the Lakers would be missing a certain player.

What’s Next?

More is sure to come from this story as more details emerge. Rozier’s lawyer has staunchly denied the allegations made against his client, saying:  “Terry is not a gambler, but he is not afraid of a fight, and he looks forward to winning this fight.” The tune sung by that of Billups’ lawyer is the similar, saying:

“He will fight these allegations with the same tenacity that marked his 28-year career. We look forward to our day in court.”

That’s all for now, folks. And just remember, make sure you know who you are really playing with and whether the game is fair. Until next time, stay tuned to pokerlistings.com.

As the year’s spookiest week rolls in, online poker giant GGPoker is inviting players to trade in a little card‑game ritual for a chance at instant prizes. From October 25 through October 31, 2025, the $1 M Halloween Party promotion asks one simple question: how many times can you see the Jack of Spades? That card shows up, you get a virtual candy. Get enough candies, you “Trick‑or‑Treat” and you could win up to US $1,000 in mysterious instant prizes.

PokerListings has all the details below.

All the $1 M Halloween Party Details

The Halloween Party is a one (spooky) week affair, from October 25 to 31, meaning it’s starting tomorrow.

The base of the entire promotion are Candies. Your goal as a player is to collect them, which in all fairness is pretty easy. You earn one simply by seeing the Jack of Spades, either in their own hand or on the board during a pot they’re involved in.

The candies are your primary objective, but you can’t mistake them for actual winnings. They’re just a means to an end. Your main goal is to collect at least 10 Candies. This is the minimum you’d need to activate the Trick-or-Treat Draw, a mystery prize round with payouts of up to $1,000.

Not every game on GGPoker is going to count toward the Candy hunt. Those that do count include All-In or Fold, Rush & Cash, No-Limit Hold’em, PLO, PLO-5, and Short Deck. So, you won’t earn Candies at Flip & Go tables, Spin & Gold, or in tournament formats like WSOP Express.

There’s one final rule players to keep in mind: if you still have 10 or more Candies left by the end of the day on October 31 (UTC-8), they’ll be automatically redeemed for a prize.

Limited-time offer: from October 24 to November 7, JackPoker has added a special $10 Spin & Win Spectacular with a top prize of $1,000,000. Here’s how it works.

How the $1,000,000 GTD Spin & Win Spectacular Works

Sometime mid-week, Ossi “Monarch” Ketola‘s social footprint vanished from X. Everything, from his personal handle to the official feeds for Duel and CSGOEmpire was scrubbed from the platform, leaving his followers with a bunch of dead links and no on-platform explanation.

So, what exactly happened to the Finnish owner of the Duel casino and his X accounts, that’s what PokerListings is here to tell you about.

What Happened Between Monarch and X

Ketola himself got on a Twitch stream and announced that multiple X profiles associated with him, including his personal timeline and the brand accounts for Duel and CSGOEmpire, were suspended at roughly the same time tis week.

Since the accounts were taken down, all you can find is standard suspension messaging in place of each profile. There’s no public note detailing the specific rule cited. As of publication, none of the accounts have been restored yet.

X Suspension Hits Monarch, Duel, and CSGOEmpire Accounts

The suspension definitely came from the platform-side and it was immediate. All the profiles are currently inaccessible, and past posts, replies, and media are no longer viewable to the public.

As for now, X hasn’t given us much to work with. There’s been no formal statement from the account holders on whether an appeal has been filed, nor any indication from the platform about duration or review timelines.

What We Don’t Know

Like we said, there’s not much to work with for now. While his accounts were definitely suspended, there’s no specific the policy trigger, we don’t have a timetable for review, and we don’t know whether the takedown is permanent or temporary.

However, while we might not know anything for certain, Monarch has his own take on the situation and he gladly shared it on the same Twitch stream we mentioned earlier. If you ask Ketola, the X suspension was targeted. He tied the timing of the takedown to the launch of new RTP-based games on Duel.

Ossi Ketola

Why banned? It looks like they are attacking. Just when we launch [RTP games], this happens. Someone spent a significant amount of money to get the accounts banned.

The Fin didn’t stop there, going a step further and calling the suspension part of an orchestrated effort to disrupt his business. He characterized the situation as a fight, stating that Duel is going to keep working and keep fighting,

He closed the segment with a line that’s already circulating widely among his followers:

Ossi Ketola

The lion doesn’t mind the sickness. The lion fights when they have to.

A Little More Context About Monarch

If you’ve been following this story but still aren’t exactly sure who Monarch is, here’s a crash course on the controversial figure. In recent months, Ketola’s emerged as one of the most divisive figures in poker and crypto gambling. In September, he won a record-breaking $12.7 million pot in a heads-up clash with Hong Kong’s Bjorn Li in what was one of the largest televised poker hands in history.

He’s also known for cultivating a fiercely loyal online fanbase, many of whom quickly rallied in his defense after news of the suspension broke.

With all that said, Ketola’s critics have long flagged his use of racially charged and offensive language on social platforms. While it’s not known if such content contributed to the current suspensions, it’s definitely a narrative that’s been present around his image.

As for now, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.

ClubWPT Gold had has had a busy few weeks. After subtly announcing it’s plan to stay in California even amid the new sweepstakes ban, the poker operator, or specifically, its ambassador Doug Polk took to X to make another announcement: Pot-Limit Omaha (both cash games and multi-table tournaments) was going live on ClubWPT Gold.

Just after this news, Polk jumped onto Reddit to take questions about everything from the new games, the platform’s expansion into Canada, and the future of the site in states like California. This Reddit thread gave us a rare chance to dig into how ClubWPT Gold actually works, KYC, multi-tabling and all.

So, PokerListings decided to dig through and give you the most interesting bits of information that Polk had to share.

What ClubWPT Gold Ambassador Doug Polk Had to Say

The Reddit thread in question started with Polk confirming that PLO cash games were going live first, with 6-max and full-ring tables likely to be available. After that, it was time for the Reddit community to do what it does best and ask about everything and anything that came to mind.

Doug Polk
Doug Polk

A Few Technical Questions

Most users wanted to get into the details right away. For instance, AA_ZoeyFn asked if there was any chance this meant that ring games would be getting bit of an overhaul as well. Unfortunately, Polk had to dissapoint them, at least for now:

Doug Polk

Lobby filtering is on the eventual to do list. But we have higher priorities first like PLO, auto top up, wait for bb etc.

Then again, others wanted to know if there’d be changes in rake with this new release, and as far as Polk knows, the answer is no:

Doug Polk

I think the same as the NL games afaik

Of course, there were those wanting to know if this PLO was just the beginning, a soft launch before releasing 5-card PLO, PLO8 or BigO. For that, we’ll just have to wait, since as Polk put it:

Doug Polk

Lets be thankful it took 9 months to get PLO before we want more variants

What Was That About Canada?

Doug Polk
Doug Polk

The original Reddit announcement from Polk mentioned that Canada will be added in on Tuesday or Wednesday. So, naturally, users had some questions, the most prominent one being about deposit and cash out methods for players in Ontario. Based on what the ClubWPT Gold ambassador had to say, it looks pretty straightforward for now:

Doug Polk

Will mainly be credit card/bank transfer assuming its the same in Canada as the US. Yes you will have to KYC with ID.

To some users’ surprise (and delight), Polk also confirmed Ontario will be in the share the player pool with the rest of the crowd, stating:

Doug Polk

And What About Everyone Else?

California WPT Club Gold stays as it is

With the Canada news, naturally, Reddit users wanted to know were any US announcements going to follow. Most inquired about individual states, such as Michigan and New Jersey, but both of these were a no-go for now, with Doug commenting on the latter:

Doug Polk

No NJ update at the moment unfortunately .

Others, like No-Buy-6589, wanted to know where the situation stands with California. For his part, Polk kept it pretty straightforward without saying too much:

There isnt an official stance yet, but as I understand it, that bill specifically targets dual currency systems. We are not dual currency anymore.

Curious to know how the new PLO tables plays out? Then we’d invite you to watch Doug Polk’s live stream below to see how the newly released tables look and run.

This week we’re running PokerListings freerolls in the rooms you’re already familiar with — 888poker, WPT Global, CoinPoker, and JackPoker. Depending on your location, you can take part in different tournaments.

The main participation rules remain the same: follow our website and social media to get the password for tournament access.

We’re working to add more tournaments for players registered through our links. For instance, the CoinPoker and 888poker IT tournaments currently run without a password — only PokerListings-registered players can join. PokerListings-exclusive tournaments attract fewer players, which means it’s easier to win a prize!

Special Events for Our Subscribers

Last weekend we had planned a special freeroll for the subscribers of our Telegram channel and chat, but due to an error when creating the tournament, it didn’t take place.

To make it up to you, we’ve scheduled several weekly tournaments on WPT Global. The passwords will be available on our Instagram channel — instagram.com/pokerlistings.

The Galactic Series is already an established name at PokerStars. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the poker power house is expanding its space-themed festival for France, Spain and Portugal from November 2 to 24, lining up €7 million guaranteed, a €350,000-GTD Main Event on November 16. There’s also a team competition that hands out Silver and Gold Power Passes thrown in there for good measure.

We’ll tell you everything we know (and PokerStars has been willing) to share in this article.

The Basics: Dates, Guarantees, Headliners

The European edition is happening across 23 days that are going to be filled with daily tournaments and weekly tentpoles. As we mentioned, the Main Event lands on the schedule on Sunday, November 16, backed by €350,000 guaranteed.

Two early highlights bracket the first half of the series: a €100 Sunday Special Galactic edition with €125,000 GTD on November 2 at 20:00 CET, and a double bill on November 9—the €50 Spicy 50 (€150,000 GTD at 20:00 CET) followed by the €250 High Roller PKO (€100,000 GTD at 21:00 CET).

Galactic Team Battles for Power Passes

Alongside the tournament slate you just saw, PokerStars decided to layer in a team contest to the Galactic Series, led by non other than the PokerStars Ambassadors.

It all seems pretty simple so far. Players opt in by picking a team, then complete mini-missions to earn leaderboard points. Those points then matter twice: they add to the team total and scale each player’s starting stack in that team’s weekly freeroll.

Only one weekly freeroll actually runs, the one belonging to the top-scoring team that week. The winner of that freeroll pockets a Silver Pass. After three Silver Pass weeks, a final freeroll on November 26 at 20:00 CET awards a Gold Pass.

Who’s Captaining the Teams

  • France: choose between Benny, Yu, or JBZZ
  • Spain: pick Willo, Alex Romero, or Estiwinho
  • Portugal: Team A (Ricardo Sousa, João Tomás, Vasco Freitas) or Team B (Tiago Ferreira, Rúben Lopes, Hugo Machado)

The Way into the Galactic Series

PokerStars kept the qualification path straightforward. Online satellites started running yesterday, October 20, with Power Path in the mix for additional routes.

During the WSOP Circuit Cyprus 2025, GGPoker ambassador Tony “Ren” Lin was escorted out of the Main Event Day 2 for violating the Poker Integrity Policy on GGPoker — a shocking move for the majority of the field who weren’t given any explanation to what had just happened.

It turned out that Ren recently helped his friend (going by the nickname RealOA) via group chat, while the latter was playing the $10,300 GGMIllion$ tournament final table on GGPoker. At the end of the day, RealOA won the tourney with a massive prize of $346,903.

Let’s dive deeper into how the poker community learned about this case of real-time assistance, why Ren’s disqualification is considered controversial among poker players, and what his response was to this issue.

The Whistleblower of the GGMillion$ Controversy: Buzzcut

On October 17th, 2025 the third place winner of the $10K GGMIllion$ nicknamed Buzzcut shared on X (ex-Twitter) information about a potential breach of GGPoker rules during the final table of that event.

His information seemed to be solid because it was received from the source — the poker community chat that he was personally invited to by Ren Lin.

According to evidence Buzzcut published, the winner RealOA shared his final table in real time in the group chat and was (at least partially) coached by Ren Lin during the game. He later even thanked Lin by message: “Thanks Tony for the coaching”.

It is worth noting that all messages shared by Buzzcut are in Chinese, including screenshots of the RealOA stream from this group.

However, Tony is the only person directly called out by name and thanked by the winner in these messages that made Lin the only confirmed person involved in real-time assistance from this chat.

Ren Lin Chat Tony

While Buzzcut continued to collect more information about this situation, Ren Lin messaged him to apologize and discuss the issue — but somehow managed to make situation look worse:

Buzzcut

Tony claimed 90% of the FT players will do the same thing: sharing the screen and getting advice from other poker players to get better result. It’s quite common and normal.

However, Lin swore “to never ever give real-time advice to other players in the future”. Buzzcut decided to go public anyway and inform the other finalists and the entire community of what went down and the fact that it wasn’t okay, no matter who you are and how you excuse it for yourself.

Was Ren Lin’s Assistance a Ghosting

While a lot of poker players and media labeled this situation as a textbook example of ghosting, Buzzcut himself hasn’t used this term in his post even once.

Instead he embedded screenshots of GGPoker Online Poker Security Ecology Policy (SEP)  into the text, explaining what rules he considered to have broken by Lin and RealOA:

If we read GGPoker rules closely, it becomes clear that even according to them, Lin advising another player is not the case of ghosting.

GGPoker defines ghosting as a practice when “a player allows another player, usually a player of much higher skill, to take control of their account”.

There are no accusations or proof that Ren ever had an access to a RealOA account and played through it — only that he assisted his friend during at least a portion of the final table.

Merit Poker and WSOP Punished Ren Lin Instantly

As we mentioned, during the $10,300 GGMIllion$ final table Ren Lin was simultaneoulsly playing the WSOP Circuit on Cyprus. As you can remember, WSOP as a brand is now owned by GGPoker — so, the consequences came from where you’d least expect them.

On October 18th, 2025 WSOP Tournament Director Andy Tillman made a decision to disqualify Ren Lin from the Main Event of WSOPC and remove his stack from the tournament. Ren was escorted from the venue by security without a chance to return.

Interestingly, even two days after his DQ, GGPoker remained silent about the whole situation: no public statement on X, Reddit or Discord, no termination of Lin’s ambassadorship, no comments at all. But poker players rushed to discuss everything.

While the general consensus was that Lin is punished fairly, not all players saw the TD’s decision as a just or even logical one.

For example, Todd Witteles stated that banning people for cheating is an undoubtedly correct action but not like that:

Todd Witteles

Incorrect to ban them mid-tournament unless they cheated in that actual tournament series. Why can’t these tours ever get this right?  They either welcome known scumbags, or they arbitrarily ban people on Day 2 unrelated to anything current.

Chris Hunichen named the mid-tourney ban “def ridiculous”, and Patrick Leonard shared that he is against this practice in these circumstances:

To me disqualification during the tournament should generally not happen, especially in case like this where that offence can’t impact this tournament and time for a sufficient investigation has been less than 24 hours.

I feel online/live should cross over to some point, but mid tournament DQ like this I’m against.

Maybe I’m biased because Ren is so likeable, but I’d like to think I’d have the same stance if it was somebody else.”

However, there was one question all the commentators agreed on: Okay, sure, Ren Lin was punished live for breaching GGPoker rules — but what about RealOA who literally won the GGMIllion$ tournament?

The answer (and punishment) came from an unexpected source — Ren Lin himself.

Rel Lin Took Measures to Set Record Straight

On October 19th, 2025 Ren Lin issued a public statement with an apology and his side of this story:

“I must state unequivocally that I gained no form of profit from this incident. I held no stake in any player’s entry, received no payment, and derived no benefit whatsoever. My actions were purely an instinctive reaction in an inappropriate setting—one that contradicted the principles of fair competition I have always strived to uphold.

On the day of the incident, I was competing in a WSOP event in Cyprus. During a ten-minute break, I clicked a Tencent Meeting link shared by RealOA. Upon joining, I saw he was playing the GG10300 Final Table. When he asked for my opinion on a hand, I responded instinctively, offering my personal advice simply out of a desire to help a friend. The entire interaction lasted only a few minutes, after which I left the call and returned to my live tournament. As it was my first time entering such a live session, I failed to recognize it as a rule violation at that moment, mistakenly equating it with post-tournament hand discussions common in our chat groups.

Later, I learned in our poker group that RealOA had won the event. He sent a $100 red packet in our 500-member group, tagged me, and thanked me for the advice. I did not accept the red packet. It was only when another player, Yl3i, posted about his third-place finish that I realized Buzzcut was his in-game ID, and I congratulated him accordingly.”

Finally, Ren shared that his friend RealOAhas returned the majority of the prize money last night” and that Lin himself will cover the remaining portion. All the money returned to GGPoker will be fairly distributed among the other finalists.

Lin also confessed to being deeply ashamed of this situation, feeling remorse “for failing to live up to the standards” he advocates, and being ready to take any further penalties for his actions.

Poker Community Reaction to Ren Lin’s Public Statement

While Ren’s assistance was widely condemned by the poker community, his public statement gave him back a couple of points in the eyes of other players.

For example, fellow GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu praised Lin for accepting consequences:

“This all rings very true to me knowing Ren for several years and his character in regards to poker and his passion for it.

He made a mistake trying to help a friend he was excited for and I think this apology owns it appropriately.

He accepts his consequences responsibly IMO.”

Aarone Barone joined this opinion by stating:

Aarone Barone

I’ve been fairly critical of the entire ordeal but this public apology + returning the funds is a huge step in the right direction.

However, Lin’s post also got a few raised eyebrows. In particular, Sam Greenwood shared his surprise with Ren deciding what to do with the winner’s prize:

Sam Greenwood

Why is Ren determining what happens to the money? Is GG’s policy that people who cheat can keep the money if they really want to?

This question is fair because Lin’s statement implied that GG didn’t confiscate money from RealOA for breaching the SEP. Rather, he and Lin returned the money voluntarily without any additional punishment for Ren or his friend.

While we’re all waiting for the GGPoker comments, we’ll refrain from speculating about what this brand will do with ambassadors breaking rules. Mostly because it is actually hard to predict something after what happened with Nacho Barbero on ACR Poker.

A statement from GGPoker

On October 21, 2025, GGPoker released a statement confirming everything that had already been published and announced by all other parties, with one exception: the room clarified that RealOA was permanently banned and Ren Lin was suspended indefinitely from all GGPoker, WSOP and partner platforms.
However, the statement did not specify whether Lin had lost his contract with GG or his role as ambassador.
