GGPoker is bringing back a fan-favorite tournament tomorrow. Yes, we’re talking about the the Flip & Go Millionaire. The event runs from November 1 to 11 and features a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool for a modest $11 buy-in. It’s a format that’s fast, accessible, and a little bit unorthodox but that’s the point.
Hourly flights begin Thursday, and the final phase, where real poker kicks in, takes place on November 11 at 19:00 UTC.
How Flip & Go Millionaire Works
Flip & Go Millionaire follows the same two-phase structure GGPoker has used with its past editions.
The Flip Stage is up first. It’s going to run hourly for the entire tournament, November 1 through November 11. Just like past editions, each flight starts with three hole cards for each player; you discard one, after which everyone goes all-in. If you end up winning your table, you qualify for the Go Stage. If not, re-entry’s always possible.
There’s a little nuance to it too: players who survive multiple flips get extra lives sure but their stacks are also combined into one for the Go Stage.
The Go Stage is scheduled for November 11 at 19:00 UTC and plays as a standard No-Limit Hold’em tournament. Everyone who makes it this far is already in the money, and from there, it’s a more traditional MTT, albeit with stacks and dynamics that reflect how many flips you survived.
Buy-ins start at $11, but there are $0.11 satellites running as well, making it fairly open to any bankroll. As GGPoker’s Paul Burke put it:
The format lets players build a big stack and take aim at huge cash prizes faster than almost anywhere else at GGPoker — there’s no time wasted.
And in case you want to go a little more in-depth with regards to the actual format, check out our Flip & Go Guide.
