The list of three-time World Poker Tour champions is short and impressive:

Gus Hansen. Carlos Mortensen. Chino Rheem. And Anthony Zinno. And that's it.

The list of 4-time WPT champions almost became a list of one this weekend as Zinno continued his impressive streak of WPT finishes.

Coming into the final table as the only previous WPT champ in the final six Zinno even got a sniff of the chip lead three-handed but ultimately couldn't close and fell just short of his fourth title.

His third-place finish snagged him €90,460 and another nice pile of points towards the next WPT Player of the Year trophy, though.

The winner, meanwhile, was also a player who had a ton of success on last year's World Poker Tour, Serbian-American Andjelko Andrejevic.

Yachou On Hand to Watch

While none of the final six had a WPT title to his credit Andrejevic certainly had plenty of experience with deep runs.

Anthony Zinno
Zinno: Has deep WPT runs on lock.

In Season XIV of the WPT he had two final tables with a 3rd at WPT Maryland and 4th at the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star.

He also bubbled the final table of the WPT Borgata Poker Open and ultimately finished second in the POY race to Mike Shariati.

He's off to an even better start in 2016/2017 as his first-ever WPT title earned him an early 1,000 points to put him tied for the lead with Seth Davies.

For the win Andrejevic pocketed €200,000 and a seat in next year's WPT Tournament of Champions. As an interesting side note, last year's WPT Amsterdam champ Farid Yachou, who used his free seat to win the recent WPT Tournament of Champions, was on hand to rail the action.

Check the WPT Live Updates for a full recap of all the action. Complete results and payouts for the WPT Amsterdam Final Table:

1. Andjelko Andrejevic, €200,000
2. Tomas Fara, €143,300
3. Anthony Zinno, €90,460
4. Emrah Cakmak, €67,300
5. Senh Ung, €50,518
