Ziigmund Battered for $490k
Just one day after finally recording a winning session, Ilari “Sahamies” Ziigmund dropped a stunning $490k.
In his defense, Sahamies feared no one as he played over 1,000 hands against sharks such as Phil Ivey, Dan “jungleman12” Cates and Brian Hastings.
Unfortunately for Sahamies, every aforementioned player was able to rake a huge sum from the Finn.
Ivey and Hastings were both victorious at the $200/$400 Six-Max PLO tables where Ziigmund lost $190k.
Sahamies found no relief in heads-up play either, as Cates absolutely smashed him for over $270k.
After the session finally concluded, Sahamies found himself down $1.2 million in 2010. It’s the first time this year Ziigmund been down more than $1 million and he’s going to need a huge comeback if he wants to get even before the year concludes.
It was a very different story for jungleman12 who finished his session up a total of $384k.
Cates is starting to pull away as the biggest winner of 2010 with $4.6 million. Tom Dwan is second with $3.9 million and Phil Ivey is third with $3.2 million.
Speaking of Ivey, the Team Full Tilt Pro finally made an appearance at the high stakes online tables after a brief hiatus.
He didn’t show any signs of rust as he destroyed his competition and raked $174k in a scant 48 hands.
Other big winners included Brian Hastings with $214k in profit, harrington25 with $95k and Gus Hansen with $83k.
Joining Sahamies in the losing column were DrugsOrMe (-$229k), DIN_FRU (-$74k) and Niki Jedlicka (-$64k).
