WSOP Academy to host ladies event in Las Vegas

WSOPA graduate Sally Anne Boyer won the Ladies Event at the 2007 WSOP
By Erik Sylven
The World Series of Poker Academy will host a two-day Ladies Only Event at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Jan. 25-26, 2008. WSOP bracelet winner Annie Duke will be one of the instructors at the poker camp.
Academy participants will be treated to in-depth seminars, live hand demonstrations, interactive workshops and customized handbooks.
In addition to Annie Duke, poker tells expert Joe Navarro and noted poker instructor Alex "The Insider" Outhred will be among the poker experts who will help attendees gain insight into the world of poker.
This will be the second Ladies Only Event hosted by the WSOPA. One of the graduates from the first one, Sally Anne Boyer, won the Ladies World Championship at the 2007 World Series of Poker.
"The fact that Sally went from a novice poker player to a World Champion a day after attending the Academy is a testament to the level of instruction Annie Duke, Joe Navarro, Alex Outhred and all of our instructors offer our participants. We're expecting to see more Academy grads go on to win bracelets in 2008," said Brandon Rosen of Post Oak Productions, the company that produces the WSOP Academy.
The cost of the WSOP Academy Ladies Only Event is $1,699, and space is limited to 100 participants.
