The World Poker Tour is headed back to Morocco.

After a succesful run in 2009, the WPT is going back the Casino De Marrakech for a €4,250+€750 tournament Nov. 27-30.

The first major poker tournament in North Africa, the inaugural WPT Marrakech presented by Chilipoker was a sell out featuring 416 players from 32 different countries.

France’s Christophe Savary took down a final table that included Eoghan O’Dea, Ludovic Lacay and Benny Spindler to grab the title and €379,014.

This year, sponsor Chilipoker has made the WPT main event the center piece of the Chilipoker Marrakech Festival, kicking off with a €500+€50 Deepstack Open event Nov. 20.

"Marrakech is a magic and relaxing place so we are delighted to be bringing the WPT back to the mystical town in November," said Chilipoker CEO Alexandre Dreyfus.

"We were so encouraged by turnout last year as well as the flawless organization and competitive hotel rates that in 2010 we have built the Chilipoker Marrakech Festival around the prestigious WPT event.”

WPT’s Executive Tour Director Matt Savage will act as Tournament Director.

“WPT Marrakech takes place in an amazing setting and if last year is anything to go by you can expect a loose aggressive field,” said Savage.

“Casino de Marrakech is world renowned for its hospitality and WPT players can look forward to an experience unlike any other.”

Online qualifiers are already running at Chilipoker.
