Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies broke though on PokerStars last night by taking Viktor “Isildur1” Blom for nearly $500k.

Back when he was a dominant force on Full Tilt Poker, Sahamies was renowned for massive swings and recorded $1 million days on several occasions.

The stakes are generally smaller on PokerStars and it had been months since Sahamies recorded a victory in the $400k range online.

That all changed last night as Sahamies went on an absolute tear, playing 1,132 hands and going up $492k.

The evening took a familiar pattern as it started with Isildur1 dominating the 6-Max PLO games and going up close to $500k but then heading straight to the heads-up tables where he was simply outclassed by Sahamies.

It was eerily reminiscent of the weekend where Isildur1 went on a huge run only to lose all his profit and more to Phil Galfond.

This time around Isildur1 escaped with a slim profit of $76k but there’s a good chance he was severely disappointed considering he played 2,942 hands and was up close to $500k at one point.

It’s been a remarkable turn around for Sahamies, who was down over $800k on PokerStars for 2011 last month but now suddenly finds himself with a $600k profit.

No one even came close to matching Sahamies last night as Ben86 (+$68k), benito1982 (+$65k), alexeimartov (+$65k) were the other big winners.

Noted British poker star JP Kelly also picked up $46k in 4,051 hands.

Meanwhile Ronny “1-ronnyr3” Kaiser, Theo Jorgensen and Niki “RealAndyBeal” Jedlicka were all massive losers on PokerStars all thanks to Isildur1’s work in the Six-Max games.

Kaiser dropped $229k, Jorgensen lost $161k and Jedlicka threw away $118k. Rounding out the top five losers were gavz101 (-$107k) and Kanu7 (-$91k).
