Paddy Power opens betting on WSOP winner

Paddy Power Poker may offer players lots of poker action, but now it's the site's betting side that will capture the attention of poker fans as it offers odds on the winner of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event.

On Monday, the 2008 WSOP Main Event played down to its top nine contestants, but now fans will have to wait until November to see the final table winnowed down to a winner. In the meantime, they can take a look at the players and place a bet on who they think is the most likely to win it all.

Paddy Power is laying odds as follows:

  • Dennis Phillips: 4-1
  • Ivan Demidov: 4-1
  • Scott Montgomery: 9-2
  • Peter Eastgate: 9-2
  • Ylon Schwartz: 8-1
  • Darus Suharto: 17-2
  • David Rheem: 10-1
  • Craig Marquis: 10-1
  • Kelly Kim: 50-1

(Odds are subject to change.)

The site also plans to take bets on the nationality of the winner and the age of the winner.
